The New York Times Help Center describes the game this way: “Players are given 16 words and must find groups of four items that share something in common.” Each group has a color; yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest. Some words can appear to fit more than one category, so the challenge is finding the intended set of four. NYT Connections rules and help
