Why the groups fit

KEEP TABS ON

To follow, monitor, track, or watch something is to keep tabs on it.

ONE IN A DOZEN

A donut, juror, month, and rose can each be one of a dozen: a dozen donuts, jurors, months in a year, or roses.

THINGS WITH INK

Ink is used by a pen, printer, squid, and tattoo machine.

___ RABBIT

Each word completes a rabbit name or title: Roger Rabbit, Trix rabbit, Velveteen Rabbit, and White Rabbit.

How this puzzle is identified

TechRadar’s date-specific guide, published September 15, 2025, calls the September 16 puzzle game #828 and describes its own result as a perfect score with a “Hard” rating. Wordle.today’s archive gives the same four category titles but calls it #871. The category names match, but the numbering varies by source; #828 is TechRadar’s identifier, not an independently confirmed NYT number.

How Connections works

In the game, players sort 16 entries into four groups of four based on shared connections. TechRadar describes the groups as color-coded by difficulty and says players can make up to four mistakes. Its guide says the game is available free on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile; that access description is TechRadar’s, not a fresh confirmation from NYT.
