How the groups fit together

Connections asks players to sort sixteen terms into four groups of four. Colors indicate group difficulty, with yellow generally the most straightforward and purple the most difficult. The categories can depend on wordplay, and plausible competing associations can make a tile seem to fit more than one group. For this puzzle, the purple set hinges on the final words or sounds rather than the full phrases.
