  1. Yellow: Think of someone who keeps to themselves.
  2. Green: Four household services or bills.
  3. Blue: Four terms from basic electricity.
  4. Purple: Each entry can come before the same word.

Category clues

  • Yellow: A way to describe someone emotionally detached or not sociable.

  • Blue: Electrical quantities; the puzzle labels the category “What an electrometer measures.”
  • Purple: Each entry can precede a five-letter noun for a place where parts or objects join.

How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. The categories have color-coded difficulty, and the word set is designed to invite plausible overlaps. The New York Times describes the game and its archive on its Connections help page. Check NYT Games for current play and archive access; availability and terms can change.
