How Connections works
The New York Times Help Center describes Connections as a game in which players receive 16 words and find four groups of four that share something in common. The four colors indicate increasing difficulty, from yellow (easiest) to purple (trickiest). Words can fit more than one plausible category, but each puzzle has exactly one solution. NYT Connections Help Center
Connections is available on the NYT Games site and app, nytimes.com/theathletic, and the News app. The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. The NYT Help Center says the full archive, which dates back to June 12, 2023, is available to All Access and Games subscribers; access terms can change. NYT Connections Help Center
