How Connections works
Connections gives you 16 words and asks you to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared connection. The New York Times says each puzzle has one solution, and that editors curate words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary. Some words may seem to fit more than one category, which is part of the challenge. Colors indicate difficulty from yellow (easiest) to purple (trickiest), according to the NYT Help Center.
The date-specific guide rated this puzzle Hard and reported a failed solve; those are the author’s personal assessment and result, not a measured player difficulty or solve rate.
