How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared link. Each group is marked by a color. Forbes describes yellow as usually the easiest and purple as usually the hardest, though that is a general pattern rather than a rule for every puzzle. Four incorrect guesses end the game.
