Connections answers for Wednesday, March 12
The four groups are pound-cake ingredients, red things, words the puzzle describes as having no exact rhymes, and words that form candy names when followed by “candy.”
Yellow: Ingredients in classic pound cake
Butter, Eggs, Flour, Sugar
Green: Things that are red
Cardinal, Elmo, Ketchup, Rose
Blue: Words said to have no exact rhymes
Month, Orange, Purple, Silver
Purple: Candy
Cotton, Eye, John, Rock
The rhyme group is the puzzle’s category framing, not a universal linguistic rule.
