Category Tiles Completed phrases
FIRST ___ AID, LADY, NATIONS, RESPONDER First aid, first lady, First Nations, first responder
SECOND ___ COMING, FIDDLE, GUESS, NATURE Second coming, second fiddle, second guess, second nature
THIRD ___ EYE, PARTY, RAIL, ROCK Third eye, third party, third rail, third rock
LAST ___ LAUGH, RESORT, STRAW, SUPPER Last laugh, last resort, last straw, Last Supper

Why the tiles fit these groups

The puzzle’s organizing idea is phrase completion: add the category’s ordinal word to each tile. For example, the FIRST group gives “first aid” and “first responder,” while the SECOND group gives “second nature” and “second fiddle.” The same pattern links each of the remaining tiles to THIRD or LAST.
