The February 6, 2026 edition of NYT Connections: Sports Edition is #501, not #500. The sourced sequence places puzzle #500 on February 5. Below are graduated hints for February 6, followed by the complete groups and answers behind a spoiler warning.
First, a date and puzzle-number correction
The title’s “February 6” and “#500” do not match. Parade labels the February 6, 2026 puzzle #501 and its February 5 puzzle #500; the Sports Connections archive gives the same date-number mapping. This guide covers the February 6 puzzle, #501—not the February 5 game. These identifications come from third-party coverage and an archive, rather than an official NYT answer page.
Graduated hints for February 6
Connections asks players to “group sports terms that share a common thread,” according to the NYT instruction reproduced by Parade’s February 6 coverage. Sports Edition presents 16 words to sort into four groups of four. Try these clues in order, stopping when you have enough to continue:
- Yellow: Think of cities with a connection to the Olympic Games.
- Green: These are performed in the air, while on ice.
- Blue: Look for U.S. athletes associated with the 2026 Winter Olympics.
- Purple: Complete the phrase “Ski_____.”
The game resets daily at 12 a.m. EST, as described in Parade’s February 6 coverage.
