The September 29, 2026 NYT Mini is a Tuesday 5×5 puzzle by constructor Ian Livengood, edited by Joel Fagliano. The dated puzzle pages confirm its ten clues, but their answer fields are concealed, so the individual answers cannot be verified here.

Identify the September 29, 2026 Mini

“September 29” refers here to the 2026 puzzle, rather than a Mini from another year. NYTSolver identifies the grid as a 5×5 and credits Ian Livengood as constructor and Joel Fagliano as editor. NYTSolver’s dated puzzle page and Try Hard Guides’ September 29 page list the same five Across and five Down clues.

Clues in the puzzle

Across

  1. 1A: Items on an airport carousel
  2. 5A: Animal whose name has a doubled letter seen repeatedly in this puzzle
  3. 7A: Josh ___, 2024 N.F.L. M.V.P.
  4. 8A: Nabisco wafer brand
  5. 9A: Small hill

Down

  1. 1D: Versatile Scrabble tile
  2. 2D: 100% committed
  3. 3D: Pico de ___ (salsa variety)
  4. 4D: Aroma
  5. 6D: Overly fussy about details

Why the answer list is not included

The dated pages confirm the clue wording, but the answer fields are interactive or concealed in the available page text. That means the clues can be reported, while the filled grid cannot be checked against those sources.

Other puzzle instances do not fill that gap: a clue page gives “Nabisco wafer brand” as NILLA for a November 2025 puzzle, while separate “Small hill” clues have MOUND and KNOLL in other grids. Neither establishes the September 29, 2026 answers. The NILLA clue page and the small-hill clue page are not verification of this grid.
