About the Mini and access
Forbes describes the Mini as a quick version of the larger crossword, usually on a five-by-five grid with three to five clues in each direction, while noting that Saturday puzzles can be larger. Try Hard Guides characterizes Saturday Minis generally as often the most difficult and more wordplay-heavy; that is a broad description, not a guarantee about every Saturday puzzle.
Forbes stated in its September 12, 2025 article that the Mini had become available only to subscribers and that earlier archive puzzles also required an NYT Games subscription. That is a dated statement; current subscription and archive policies are not established here.
