How to play NYT Pips
Use every domino to fill the grid while satisfying the condition shown in each colored region. Conditions can require equal or different values, a value above or below a threshold, an exact total number of pips, or no special restriction. Some boards may have more than one valid solution. The date and board are the safest identifiers: a March 19 community thread calls this set Pips #214, but numbering can vary by player locale.
March 19 Hard hint
Spoiler-light clue: The Hard board’s three-cell Purple region must total 15. The combination 3, 6 and 6 makes 15; a player in the March 19 community thread also pointed to that combination. The board is described as an inverted numeral 2, and its available doubles help resolve the equal-value regions.

- Place the 4/3 domino from Dark Blue 5 into Green-equals. Put 3/3 in the remaining Green-equals cells.
- Place 1/4 from Dark Blue 5 into Orange 4, then 3/2 from Pink 3 into Green 2.
- Put 1/6 from the lower-right free tile into Purple 15. Place 6/2 from Purple 15 into Blue 2, then 3/5 from Purple 15 into Blue 10. Put 5/2 from Blue 10 into the top Pink-equals group.
- Fill the remaining Pink-equals cells with 2/2, and place 4/4 in Purple-equals. Put 0/0 from Dark Blue 0 into the second free tile, then 1/0 from Orange 1 into the final free tile.
Easy and Medium answers
The March 19 sources confirm that Easy and Medium boards are part of the daily set, but their exact tile placements are not available in the readable answer text.
