The theme points to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The eight theme words are BABY, BEDS, CHAIRS, HARD, MAMA, PAPA, PORRIDGE and SOFT. The spangram is THREEBEARS.
In Strands, words can bend through the letter grid, and the spangram connects opposite sides of the board. TechRadar editor Marc McLaren described the Goldilocks reference as a puzzle that feels “not too easy, not too hard, but just right.” That is his observation, not an official NYT description.
