How Strands hints work
Parade’s explanation of the NYT rules says that players find theme words that fill the board, while the spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides. Finding three non-theme words earns an in-game hint that reveals letters of a theme word. If a hint is already active, it can show the letter order.
