Why the year matters
July 24 does not identify a unique Strands puzzle without a year. The July 24, 2024 puzzle had the theme “Screen time,” the answers PROJECTOR, POPCORN, CANDY, TRAILERS, and FEATURE, and the spangram MOVIETHEATER. Those are different from the July 24, 2025 solution above.

Strands is a daily themed word-search game. The overview from TechRadar describes a six-by-eight letter grid, theme words that can bend through the grid, and a spangram that describes the theme while connecting opposite edges. Finding three non-theme words earns an in-game hint. A new puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone, so “today” may refer to a different puzzle depending on where you are. Play NYT Strands on the official game page.
