- Theme clue: “___ City.”
- Gentle nudge: Think fond monikers for places.
- Answer initials: The theme words begin MA, GO, MO, MU, WI, EM, and ET. The spangram begins NI.
- Spangram detail: It is eight letters long. Its path runs from the top of the third column to the bottom of the fourth column.
In Strands, the spangram describes the theme and connects two opposite sides of the board. Theme words are highlighted blue and the spangram yellow; finding three non-theme words earns a hint that reveals letters in a theme answer. Letters can be selected in any direction, but a path cannot reuse or cross letters.

What NICKNAME means in this puzzle
Each theme answer completes “___ City” to make a city moniker. NICKNAME identifies what those phrases have in common, while the seven shorter answers supply the examples. The clue-generating guesses TOOK, DUEL, LUMEN, RATES, MALE, and TRICK are not theme answers; they are words reported as ways to unlock the in-game hint system.
