Theme: “Crack and snack.” Need a nudge before seeing the solution? Parade’s clue for the February 11 puzzle was: “Squirrels love these.”
Hints for February 11 Strands
The theme points to something squirrels collect and eat. If you want to solve the board yourself, use that clue to look for different kinds of nuts.
Spangram and answers
Spangram: GONUTS
Theme words:
- ALMOND

The dated answer set is confirmed by PlayStrandsNYT.com’s February 11 archive, Parade’s guide, and Try Hard Guides.
How Strands hints and the spangram work
In NYT Strands, trace adjacent letters on the board to form words that fit the theme. The spangram describes the theme and stretches between two opposite sides of the board. Finding three valid words that are not theme answers earns an in-game hint, which highlights letters belonging to one theme word. These mechanics are summarized in Parade’s guide to the NYT instructions and a 2026 paper from Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics.
