Where to join the Fighters Guild
Visit any of the three guild halls and talk to its joining contact:

Ask the contact about joining the Fighters Guild. Game8 identifies all three as valid entry points, while GameSpot also names these contacts in its Oblivion walkthrough. The early quest sequence may direct you to Anvil and Cheydinhal before Chorrol, but that order is not a requirement for membership.
What to check if you cannot join
Game8 reports two conditions that can prevent membership:

- You have an active bounty. Clear the bounty, then try speaking with a joining contact again.
- Your Infamy is above 100. Game8 says you need at least 100 Fame in that situation.
These thresholds come from Game8’s joining guide. If neither condition applies, make sure you are speaking with one of the three contacts listed above and ask about joining.
Membership and your first promotion
Joining makes you an Associate right away. To advance to Apprentice, Game8 says you must complete The Desolate Mine, given by Burz gro-Khash, and A Rat Problem, given by Azzan. These are promotion requirements—not prerequisites to join.

Yes. Bethesda Support says players may join all three NPC guilds it lists: the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, and The Undaunted. Fighters Guild membership does not lock you out of those other guilds. Bethesda Support: Am I locked to one NPC guild?
