The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launched on April 22, 2025—well before June. “Remake” appeared in the original speculation, but Bethesda’s official name for the release is Oblivion Remastered.
Did Oblivion Remastered launch before June?
Yes. Xbox Wire announced the game was “out today” on April 22, 2025. The original prediction in the March 2025 Xbox discussion therefore got the timing right, though that thread was speculation rather than confirmation of a release date.
Xbox Wire’s launch announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Xbox app, cloud, and PlayStation 5. The game was also available day one through Game Pass, and Xbox Wire notes Xbox Play Anywhere support. Read Xbox Wire’s April 22, 2025 launch announcement.
Was it a remake or a remaster?
Bethesda and Xbox use The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered as the official product name. Xbox Wire describes a project that keeps the original game’s core while adding an Unreal Engine 5 visual treatment, quality-of-life changes, and the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. That is the publisher’s description, not an independent performance assessment.
