Bethesda said more than four million people had ventured into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered by April 26, 2025. That is a player milestone, not a sales total. On Steam, the remaster later reached an all-time concurrent peak of 216,784 players on April 27, according to SteamDB. That Steam figure does not establish a record across the entire Elder Scrolls series.
How many players does Oblivion Remastered have?
Bethesda Game Studios announced on April 26, 2025, that more than four million players had “ventured into Cyrodiil” in Oblivion Remastered. The game launched on April 22, 2025. Bethesda’s announcement reported players, not copies sold, and did not provide a platform-by-platform breakdown. Bethesda’s Steam announcement
As Bethesda lists the game for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and Game Pass, the four-million figure represents a broader player milestone than Steam activity alone. It should not be read as four million sales or as a Steam player count. Bethesda Support’s platform listing
How many people played Oblivion Remastered on Steam?
SteamDB records an all-time concurrent peak of 216,784 players on Steam on April 27, 2025. Concurrent players are people playing at the same time, not the total number who have played over the game’s lifetime. This is a Steam-only historical peak; it excludes activity on consoles and Game Pass. SteamDB’s historical charts

Did Oblivion Remastered break an Elder Scrolls concurrent-player record?
The 216,784 figure establishes the remaster’s peak on Steam, but by itself it does not prove that it broke a record for the Elder Scrolls series. A series-wide claim requires comparable concurrent-player figures for other games in the series, and the available figures do not provide that comparison. Bethesda’s four-million milestone is a different measure altogether: total players, rather than a simultaneous-player peak.

Bethesda says the remaster was made with Virtuos and uses Unreal Engine 5 for its visual overhaul, while retaining the original game’s core and refining elements including art, animation, effects, voice work, systems and leveling. Bethesda describes the project as a remaster rather than a remake; those are the developer’s descriptions, not independent performance findings.
