Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →For a static-artwork Malayalam music stream, start with OBS set to H.264, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and a modest resolution and bitrate your computer and upload connection can sustain. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30 or 4 Mbps for 720p30; use stereo AAC at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps. Those settings are only a starting point: test the actual playlist and visual, keep 20% upload headroom, and monitor the stream. Most importantly, do not go live until the music is cleared for livestreaming on your channel.
Recommended OBS settings for a static music playlist
YouTube accepts RTMP or RTMPS ingestion and recommends RTMPS. Its current encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video at up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and AAC or MP3 audio. For a broadly compatible starting point, H.264 with CBR is a practical choice. The right encoder preset depends on your computer’s available hardware encoder and capacity; there is no universal preset that can be recommended without those details. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance is the reference for its current platform recommendations.
| Setting | Starting point | How to choose |
|---|---|---|
| Video codec | H.264 | Use a codec your encoder and YouTube workflow support. YouTube also accepts H.265/HEVC and AV1. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube recommends constant bitrate for live encoding. |
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p30, or 720p30 if that is more stable | For a static artwork or simple visual, 30 fps is generally sufficient; choose 60 fps only if the visual design needs it and your encoder and connection can support it. |
| Video bitrate (H.264) | 5 Mbps at 1080p30; 4 Mbps at 720p30 | YouTube’s recommendations also list 6 Mbps for 1080p60 and 6 Mbps for 720p60. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular connection or computer will sustain the stream. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says the interval should not exceed 4 seconds. Keep it consistent; OBS’s guidance notes that YouTube transcodes streams and consistent intervals help playback quality transitions. |
| Audio | Stereo, AAC, 44.1 kHz, 128 Kbps | YouTube lists 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps for stereo audio and accepts AAC or MP3. |
For a single stereo stream, add the video and audio bitrates, then plan for upload capacity at least 20% above the total. For example, a 5 Mbps video stream plus 128 Kbps audio is about 5.13 Mbps before headroom, so the connection should have roughly 6.2 Mbps or more of stable upload available for the stream. Leave further margin if other devices or uploads share the connection. YouTube advises testing with audio and video similar to the actual show and monitoring stream health, not relying on a speed-test result alone. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Set up and test the stream in OBS
Labels and available encoder options can vary by OBS version, operating system, and hardware. Use the YouTube-recommended values above where the corresponding controls exist; do not choose a hardware-specific encoder or preset your system does not offer.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says live streaming requires a verified channel without live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days and a minimum age of 16. Check the channel in YouTube Studio before preparing the show. YouTube’s live-streaming getting-started guidance.
- Create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Choose the intended visibility and review the stream’s latency, DVR, auto-start, and auto-stop options. Lower latency can increase buffering; for a music stream without real-time audience interaction, the lowest latency is not automatically preferable. Consult YouTube’s stream setup instructions for the current Studio workflow.
- Copy the stream URL and key into OBS. The key works like a password. Keep it private, and reset it in Studio if you think someone else has access. Make sure OBS is using the URL and key for the broadcast you created.
- Configure the output. Set a supported video encoder, CBR, your chosen resolution and frame rate, the matching H.264 bitrate from the table if using H.264, and a 2-second keyframe interval. Configure stereo audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps using AAC or MP3. Check that the output is not exceeding the stable upload capacity.
- Build the scene and playlist. Add the visual source for the stream and the audio source or playlist method you plan to use. Play a representative section, including quieter and louder tracks, and verify that audio is present, levels are not clipping, and the visual is correct. The precise playlist setup depends on the software and media workflow, which vary by system.
- Run a representative test. Start with similar audio and video to the intended broadcast. Inspect YouTube’s preview in Live Control Room, read stream-health messages, and confirm that the audio and picture remain stable before relying on the setup for continuous use.
- Plan human checks and failure response. Decide who will check the stream and how often, and what to do if OBS closes, the computer restarts, or the internet connection fails. A successful start does not configure automatic failover or prove that a 24/7 system will remain uninterrupted.
Clear the Malayalam music before going live
Technical settings do not grant music rights. You need permissions appropriate to the actual songs, territories, and uses in your playlist. Owning a recording, purchasing a music subscription, or finding a track online does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it on YouTube. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams says streams are scanned for third-party content. A match can cause YouTube to replace the stream with a placeholder and issue a warning; if the content continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated.
- Confirm the license covers live transmission on YouTube for the channel and territories where the stream will be available.
- If the music is licensed from a rights owner, ask that owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube cautions that a licensed stream can still be interrupted without this allowlisting.
- Confirm whether the permission also covers an archived replay. YouTube may apply Content ID claims to an archived livestream after it ends.
- Do not assume a 24/7 broadcast will be one complete replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; the 24-hour format does not fit that stated condition. Archive behavior can depend on current Studio behavior and regional guidance, so verify it before planning around replays.
YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for the necessary rights on the provider, including music licensing rights. The required permissions depend on the repertoire, territories, and license terms; check the actual rights arrangement rather than treating a general license as universal clearance.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Stream health warns of insufficient bitrate or instability | The upload connection cannot sustain the total bitrate, has competing traffic, or fluctuates. | Check YouTube’s health messages, reduce resolution or bitrate to a stable recommended option, and retest with at least 20% upload headroom. |
| Picture is soft or playback quality changes abruptly | Bitrate may be too low for the chosen resolution, or keyframe intervals may be inconsistent. | Use a bitrate recommendation that matches resolution and frame rate, retain a consistent 2-second keyframe interval, and verify the preview and health indicators. |
| Audio is missing, distorted, or uneven | The wrong audio source may be selected, levels may clip, or output format settings may not match. | Check the active OBS audio source and meters during a representative test. Confirm stereo output at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps with AAC or MP3; adjust source levels to avoid clipping. |
| YouTube warns about copyrighted content or interrupts the stream | A song matched Content ID or the channel is not allowlisted, even if a license exists. | Stop using the disputed track until rights are resolved. Ask the rights owner about channel allowlisting and confirm the license covers livestream use. |
| OBS cannot connect to the broadcast | The stream URL or key may be incorrect, expired, or associated with another broadcast. | Compare OBS’s connection details with the active stream in Studio. If the key may be exposed, reset it and update OBS with the replacement. |
| The broadcast stops when the computer or internet fails | A local OBS setup depends on the computer, power, and network remaining available. | Check the machine, connection, and playlist source; follow your documented recovery plan. A local encoder does not by itself provide automatic failover. |
