Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallFor a 24/7 Tamil songs playlist stream on YouTube, start with OBS at 720p30 or 1080p30, H.264, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Choose the resolution and video bitrate your internet connection can sustain with roughly 20% upload headroom. Then make the playlist loop, test it as an unlisted stream, confirm you have livestream rights to the songs and recordings, and arrange for someone to monitor playback and stream health.
Choose 720p30 or 1080p30
For a stream built around songs and static or slowly changing artwork, 30 frames per second is a practical starting point. YouTube’s current H.264 ingestion guidance gives these bitrate figures:
| Output | YouTube H.264 minimum | YouTube H.264 recommended |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s encoder guidance figures, accessed in 2026—not results from a test of a particular PC, OBS version, or connection. Use 720p30 if your upload capacity or encoder stability makes 1080p30 unreliable; 1080p30 can make artwork and on-screen text sharper if your setup sustains it. YouTube’s recommendations can change, so verify the current YouTube encoder settings when configuring the stream.
YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload headroom. Check upload speed on the actual connection OBS will use, and account for other devices and services sharing it. A speed-test result is not a guarantee of that bandwidth being available continuously. YouTube warns that network disruptions can break a stream; see its streaming tips and encoder guidance.

Set the OBS video and audio output
Video encoder and bitrate
In OBS, open Settings > Output and configure the streaming encoder to use a YouTube-supported mode. Select CBR (constant bitrate), then set the bitrate to match the resolution you chose and the upload capacity you can sustain. For H.264, YouTube lists 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended for 720p30, or 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended for 1080p30. The recommended figure is a target, not a reason to exceed what your connection can reliably upload.
Keyframes and audio
Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds. YouTube says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo, configure AAC or MP3 audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps, which YouTube lists as its recommended stereo audio bitrate. Use RTMPS rather than RTMP where available; YouTube recommends the secure RTMP version. These are platform ingestion recommendations, not a guaranteed preset for every encoder or machine. Check the current YouTube encoder settings if a label or available option differs in your OBS release.

Make the Tamil songs playlist repeat
Loop one audio or video file
- In your OBS scene, select Sources > + > Media Source. Name the source and choose the local file.
- Enable Loop in the Media Source properties, then confirm the source is visible and active in the scene you plan to stream.
- Play the source and check the OBS audio meter. Confirm it responds during playback and that the intended artwork or video is visible.
OBS Media Source supports local audio and video, including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV audio. Its Media Sources guide describes the source and its controls.
Play a multi-song playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed.
- In OBS, select Sources > + > VLC Video. Add the song files to the playlist in the source properties.
- Check playlist looping and shuffle settings. OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default; turn shuffle on only if you want the order randomized.
- Make sure VLC Video is visible and active in the live scene. Play the playlist and check both the picture and OBS audio meter.
VLC must match OBS’s bitness: the OBS help page says 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. See the OBS Sources Guide for the VLC Video source. The OBS help pages cited here date to 2022, so labels may have moved in newer releases.

Set up YouTube Live and test before going public
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and use the stream key and server information shown for that event in OBS. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it or display it publicly. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the event’s stream key. Use RTMPS where the available YouTube server option supports it.
- Start with an unlisted test stream. Use the intended playlist, artwork, audio level, resolution, and bitrate. YouTube advises testing with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast and reviewing stream-health messages.
- Check the Live Control Room preview for accessible video and audible sound. Confirm the playlist keeps moving through its loop and that the stream reports healthy before making the event public.
- Monitor during the broadcast. Watch for stream-health warnings, stalled playback, missing picture, or muted audio. If local recording is enabled, check that the archive file is growing.
YouTube’s guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Its encoder guidance and live-stream tips recommend checking the preview and monitoring stream health and quality. They do not promise uninterrupted uptime or supply a complete 24/7 failover plan. Decide in advance who will notice a failure and how the stream will be restarted.

Confirm music rights before streaming
Before broadcasting, verify that you have permission for both the musical compositions and the specific sound recordings, and that the permission covers a YouTube livestream in the relevant territory. YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance calls out audio and video rights. Finding a song online, owning a local copy, or being able to play it in OBS does not by itself establish the right to rebroadcast it. Rights for any particular Tamil song, recording, or label catalog depend on the relevant rights holders and license.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or change |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube reports unstable stream health or the broadcast drops | The bitrate exceeds available upload capacity, other traffic is using the connection, or the connection is disrupted. | Check upload speed on the streaming connection, reduce bitrate or switch from 1080p30 to 720p30, and preserve about 20% headroom. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages. |
| The stream has picture but no song audio | The source is inactive or hidden, playback has stopped, or the source is not reaching OBS’s audio mixer. | Confirm the source is visible and active in the streamed scene, start playback, and watch the OBS audio meter while the song plays. |
| The playlist stops after one song | Looping is not enabled or the source is not configured as a playlist. | For a single Media Source, enable Loop. For VLC Video, check Loop Playlist and verify the files are present in the playlist. |
| VLC Video is unavailable in OBS | VLC may not be installed, or its bitness may not match OBS. | Install VLC and match its bitness to OBS; the OBS guide specifically requires 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. |
| The Live Control Room preview is missing or unhealthy | The encoder may not be sending the configured event correctly, or the connection may be failing. | Check the stream key and server selection in OBS, confirm the encoder is running, then review YouTube’s stream-health messages and test again while unlisted. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If keeping OBS, a computer, and a home connection running around the clock is the part you want to avoid, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay powered on at home. It does not stream from a camera.
