How to play today’s classic puzzle
Every guess is submitted to all eight boards at once. Tile colors show whether a letter is in the correct position, appears elsewhere in the word, or is absent. As the official Octordle tutorial puts it: “Guess all eight OCTORDLE words in 13 tries.”
Progressive hints for September 18
The official daily hints page follows the same board order as the game. For each board, clues are revealed in stages: first the number of vowels and whether a letter repeats, then the first letter, last letter, and middle letter. A fifth reveal gives the full word and a short definition.
- Reveal the vowel count and whether a letter repeats for each board.
- If you need more help, reveal the first letter, then the last letter, then the middle letter.
- Use the full-word reveal only when you are ready for the answer.
The hint set changes at midnight UTC. If you are playing in another time zone, the puzzle date may not match your local calendar date.

Replay the September 18 puzzle
If you missed the daily game, the official Octordle archive lets you replay past classic puzzles. Archive games do not affect your daily stats or streak. The current puzzle remains on the daily page until that day ends. The answer list above is for classic mode; Octordle also offers other modes, including Chill, Extreme, Sequence, and Rescue, whose solutions are separate.
