When was Once Human maintenance scheduled?
The Once Human Development Team said maintenance would begin August 1, 2024, at 4:00 AM UTC and was expected to last four hours. That was the planned window in the July 31 announcement; it does not confirm when maintenance actually ended. Read the official August 1, 2024 patch notes.
What changed in gameplay and controls?
Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments
The update added Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments. Using a fragment grants its corresponding specialization effect, and players can use up to three fragments per season. Controllers have a chance to yield a random fragment. Fragments are tradable, but are destroyed at season end rather than sent to the Eternaland Depot.
Combat, activities, and interface
- A new Highway Pursuit route was added in Chalk Peak, and the event start time was fixed at 9:00 PM server time.
- Sproutlet and reward drops were increased.
- Players can invite others to Public Crisis Events, and the update introduced a new camera-height setting.
- Solo players entering Monoliths or Securement Silos no longer have to wait through a Ready countdown.
- A weapon inspection function was added. Weapon accuracy display values changed, but the weapons’ actual attributes did not.
- PC players can change resolution while in full-screen mode.
- Deviation controls were updated, hair-color presets were added, and results screens were revised for several activities.
- A new server-wide task and rewards were added for Manibus Phase V.
Vehicles and production
Low-level Motorcycles received increased acceleration and maximum speed; Off-Roaders and Coupes received smaller increases. Heavily damaged vehicles must be repaired before they can be modified. Regular ammunition production output can be increased by 50%, according to the 2024 patch notes.

Planter Boxes were adjusted to support continuous replanting. The announcement also describes changes to vehicle recovery.

Nisa’s Loot Crate
Nisa’s Sproutlet Shop in neutral Strongholds gained a Loot Crate. The announcement stated a 30% chance of a Legendary Mod. If no Mod was obtained, the listed alternatives were Acid ×200, Barreled Premium Fuel ×20, or Stardust Source ×67. Those odds and rewards describe the 2024 announcement and should not be read as a current guarantee.
What bugs did the update fix?
The patch notes list fixes across territory construction, wilderness, combat, game modes, Deviations, and other systems. Specific issues addressed included generator placement counts, fuel refinery behavior, map navigation, crossbow blueprint disassembly, Prime War problems, and Deviation behavior.
