Here’s what each announcement covered, and which one best fits the “big new update” description.
Which September 2024 Once Human update was the big one?
The phrase can refer to either of two official announcements. The Sept. 26 post described its update as extensive and highlighted a new PvP scenario and redesigned ranching, so it is the likelier match for “big new update.” The Sept. 12 update was separate, with its own maintenance window and gameplay changes.
| Update | Announced | Scheduled maintenance | Main additions and changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sept. 12 | Sept. 11 | 12:00 PM Beijing Time; estimated at about four hours, or about five hours in Southeast Asia. These were estimates, not guaranteed downtime. Official announcement | Higher Morphed Deviation drop rate and new acquisition routes; world-merge guidance; High-Risk Public Crisis Events in certain scenarios; gameplay adjustments and fixes. |
| Sept. 26 | Sept. 25 | 4:00 AM UTC; estimated at approximately four hours, or five hours for SEA and Japan servers due to server upgrades. These were estimates, not guaranteed downtime. Official announcement | Prismverse’s Clash, Ranching System 2.0, Eternaland roaming, and the Fabled Masamune melee weapon blueprint. |
These were separate updates, not competing versions or paid upgrades.
What changed in the Sept. 12 update?
Morphed Deviations and world merges
The update increased the drop rate of Morphed Deviations and added ways to acquire them through securement facilities in NPC settlements and Securement Silos. When a Scenario entered its Settlement Phase, Worlds merged; players were advised to move their territories to a safe World before a merge.

The Big Light Bulb’s HP was lowered in “Where Does Disco Go.” The announcement also listed the Nighttime Rose Battle Pass and Freezing Mist limited-time loot crate, alongside vehicle reporting, climbing and vaulting changes, item acquisition descriptions, monster adjustments and fixes. The announcement establishes that this content was listed at the time; it does not establish that the pass or crate is currently available.

What arrived in the Sept. 26 update?
Prismverse’s Clash and Ranching System 2.0
The headline gameplay additions were the new PvP scenario Prismverse’s Clash and Ranching System 2.0. Ranching breeding had three stated requirements: an animal with high Tameness, an animal that was not a youngling, and a Youngling Hut in the territory with capacity available. Newborn animals could have random color or pattern changes, including rare patterns. The announcement named capybara, flamingo and leopard as new ranch animals.
Eternaland roaming and the Fabled Masamune
Eternaland Roaming let players visit random players’ Eternalands, browse recommendations and Like an Eternaland. The update also made the Fabled Masamune melee weapon blueprint purchasable in the Blueprint Shop after the update. The announcement does not state a price.

Renaming Cards and Chrysalis Tokens could be purchased for 1 Energy Link each, with one purchase per account for each item, according to the announcement.
The post also listed changes to building damage parameters, private chat, Journey tasks and The Forsaken Giant dungeon difficulties, plus numerous fixes. As with the Sept. 12 announcement, the presence of time-limited items in that post is not evidence that they remain available now.
