The available Way of Winter-specific ranking is a launch-era 2024 guide order, not a verified October 2026 meta: M416 – Silent Anabasis, ACS12 – Pyroclasm Starter, MG4 – Conflicting Memories, M416 – Autumn Equinox, then M416 – Scorched Earth. Current general weapon guides offer useful build context, but they do not establish a new Way of Winter-only ranking.
Way of Winter weapons ranked in the 2024 guide
Game8’s scenario-specific search result gives this five-weapon order. Its underlying page is historical 2024 coverage and is not available here for verification, so treat the list as that guide’s launch-era ranking—not as a current, independently tested comparison.
- M416 – Silent Anabasis
- ACS12 – Pyroclasm Starter
- MG4 – Conflicting Memories
- M416 – Autumn Equinox
- M416 – Scorched Earth
The list gives an order, but it does not establish that every weapon was tested with equivalent builds, nor does it provide a current performance gap between adjacent entries. [Game8’s Way of Winter weapons guide]
Why this is not a current universal tier list
Weapon rankings depend on the job and build. A single-target boss encounter, a room of grouped enemies, and general progression can reward different effects and handling. A broad weapon guide from Once Human Database explicitly cautions that weapon-effect strength can matter more than raw DPS and that its recommendations are organized by class, not measured as a cross-build DPS ranking. Its recorded base figures exclude mods, calibration, armor, and target effects. [Once Human Database weapon guide]
#1 Best Overall
- THE ULTIMATE BLUFFING GAME: Place face-down skull or flower discs, then bid on how many you can flip without hitting a skull in this razor-sharp party board game for 3-6 adult and teen players
- PURE PSYCHOLOGY & STRATEGY: No luck, no complex rules. Skull is a pure test of nerve, memory, and reading opponents; a social deduction masterclass disguised as a beautifully elegant card game
- FAST & ADDICTIVE PARTY GAME: Skull card game plays in 30 minutes with 3-6 players. Rounds are quick and tense, keeping adults and teens engaged and eager for just one more round all night
- GREAT FOR ALL GROUP SIZES: Light enough for casual adult party games, deep enough for strategy lovers. Skull board game delivers thrills, laughter, and tense moments at any gathering or party
- THE ESSENTIAL ADULT PARTY GAME: If you love bluffing, social deduction, and outplaying your friends, Skull is the most elegant, portable party game for adults you will ever own - pure psychology, zero filler
That distinction matters when comparing older scenario coverage with newer general advice: current recommendations are not proof that a weapon leads in Way of Winter. The September 6, 2026 tier list discussed below ranks Manibus PvE, a different scenario. No controlled comparison of these weapons in current Way of Winter is established by the available sources.
What broader PvE recommendations can—and cannot—tell you
A tier list updated September 6, 2026 places these weapons in S-tier for Manibus PvE: SOCR ‘Last Valor’ (Shrapnel assault rifle), SN700 Finale (Shrapnel sniper), Compound Bow (Bounce), and KVD ‘Boom! Boom!’ (Burn light machine gun). This is useful context for current PvE build conversations, but it is not a Way of Winter ranking. [2026 weapon tier list]
Rank #2
- FEELIN’ CUTE is the fur-mily party game of determining which animals are the cutest! Think you can figure out which of your friends believes a Tree Frog is more precious than a Fennec Fox? You’re about to!
- DESIGNED FOR 2-8 PLAYERS, ages 6 and up, the card game takes 15 minutes to play, and will leave players feelin' cuter than ever!
- BOTH COMPETITIVE & COOPERATIVE gameplay options mean this family game that adults also enjoy is perfect for animals (or humans) of all kinds!
- CHOOSE your favorite animal paw and place the Cuteness Scale in the center of the table. Draw animal cards and show them around. Decide how its cuteness compares to the last and the other players make their guesses. If no one guesses right, turn over a Blobfish token, and once all three are turned, tally your scores!
- SPARKS HILARIOUS DISCUSSION about the cuteness of animals–and always ends with an emphatic "I want to play again!"
- For a boss: the tier-list guide describes SN700 Finale as capable of strong damage in an ideal boss clip, while noting that this depends on favorable conditions and execution.
- For chaotic rooms: the same guide describes Last Valor as more forgiving when targets and circumstances are less controlled.
- For groups: Bounce-oriented choices may suit grouped enemies, but their performance depends on how the effect interacts with the encounter.
These are qualitative guide assessments, not controlled tests. The tier list also separates PvE from PvP: it identifies Abyss Glance and Bullseye among PvP exceptions, illustrating why a PvE order should not be carried into player-versus-player play.
How to choose a weapon for your own Way of Winter build
- Start with your effect and build. Decide whether your build is centered on Shrapnel, Bounce, Burn, Frost Vortex, or another effect. A weapon’s effect synergy can outweigh a higher unmodified tooltip figure.
- Match the weapon to the encounter. Decide whether you need boss damage, area pressure against groups, or a forgiving all-purpose option. A weapon favored in one role is not automatically best in another.
- Account for handling and execution. Range, target movement, and how consistently you can land shots influence practical performance. The current Manibus guide’s contrast between an ideal SN700 boss clip and Last Valor’s forgiving use in messy silos is an example, not a universal test result.
- Compare complete builds, not bare weapon names. Mods, calibration, armor, target effects, and mode can change results. Once Human Database’s base weapon figures are not full-build performance measurements.
- Check the patch and scenario. Do not assume a 2024 Way of Winter order remains unchanged after later balance updates, or that a newer Manibus ranking applies to Way of Winter.
What changed for MG4 – Conflicting Memories
Once Human Database’s September 2026 balance note says MG4 – Conflicting Memories was changed to trigger Shrapnel faster and add periodic area Shrapnel. That is relevant patch context for a weapon appearing third in the historical Way of Winter list, but the note does not establish a new overall LMG ranking or move it to a verified current position. The official developer update dated November 23, 2024 described planned balance adjustments and warned that the announced details were not all final values. It said: “That’s why we’ll do our best to avoid nerfs in this balance adjustment, focusing instead on buffs and environmental changes.” That statement is historical context, not a guarantee about later balance decisions. Way of Winter’s scenario context
The official announcement describes The Way of Winter as a northern scenario built around environmental survival challenges and says new weapons were available. Its historical update documents the Recurve Bow and four weapons or blueprints—Hammerhead, Netherword, Doombringer, and Outerspace—but those announcements explain scenario history; they do not rank the current weapons.
