One-click Minecraft modpack hosting means a provider deploys the server files, loader, configuration and world environment for a supported pack instead of making you upload files, configure a port and reconcile every mod by hand. In the integrated CurseForge flow, you choose a pack with a matching serverpack, select a monthly plan and region, complete checkout, and receive a managed server. You can then give friends a time-limited link or code that imports the server profile and installs the matching client modpack in CurseForge.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
The button is not magic: eligibility depends on an available serverpack and exact Minecraft/loader version, and the plan still needs enough RAM and CPU for the pack and player count. The most reliable choice is the host that deploys the correct server files, places the machine near most players, provides backups and file access, and clearly identifies who handles billing and support.

What “one-click” hosting actually automates
Traditional modded-server setup combines several jobs: finding a server-compatible pack, installing the correct Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt or other loader, uploading libraries and configuration files, setting Java options, opening a network port, and giving every player a matching client installation. A one-click service turns those jobs into a guided provisioning flow. The host creates the server from a prepared serverpack, starts the instance on its infrastructure and exposes a control panel rather than requiring manual file transfer.
That automation is narrower than the marketing phrase suggests. It does not make every CurseForge or Modrinth project deployable, remove the need to choose a resource tier, or guarantee that a large kitchen-sink pack will run smoothly on the smallest plan. The exact serverpack and version are the source of truth.
#1 Best Overall
- Automated: serverpack files, loader setup, basic provisioning and connection-profile generation.
- Still your responsibility: selecting a compatible version, choosing adequate resources, managing player permissions and deciding when to upgrade, back up or cancel.
- Not required for friends: manual mod-by-mod matching when the provider supplies an import link or code tied to the server profile.
CurseForge’s integrated setup, step by step
CurseForge’s 2026 hosted-server workflow is the clearest example of the one-click model. CurseForge identifies Shockbyte as its hosting partner; the CurseForge interface is where you select the pack and manage the relationship, while provisioning and support are provided through the hosting operation.
- Open the server marketplace. In the CurseForge app, open the Minecraft Servers tab.
- Select an eligible pack. Choose a modpack that displays a matching serverpack, then select the server file and version you intend to run. A client-only pack without a prepared serverpack cannot use this automated path.
- Choose region and plan. Pick the region with the lowest practical latency for most of your group, then select the RAM/CPU tier that fits the pack and expected concurrent players.
- Review the deployment. Enter a server name and verify the pack, server file, Minecraft version, region, RAM, CPU allocation and monthly total before paying.
- Complete checkout. Tebex handles payment. After purchase, the hosting side provisions the instance and supplies the management panel and support channel.
- Invite players. Generate a direct link or import code from the server profile. Friends add that profile in CurseForge, which installs the matching modpack and connection information.
CurseForge’s launch announcement on September 8, 2026 described the experience as selecting a pack, creating a server in a few clicks and sending friends one link. The practical value is that the link carries the same pack identity and connection details, reducing version drift among players.

Eligibility: the serverpack is the gate
At launch, the automated service requires a matching serverpack. CurseForge support describes approximately 9,000 supported modpacks, while noting that broader support for public and custom packs is planned. “Supported” therefore means more than “visible in the launcher”: the pack must have server files that the hosting workflow can deploy.
Before paying, open the pack’s server option and confirm all of the following:
- The serverpack exists for the specific Minecraft version you want.
- The loader (Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt or another listed stack) matches your group’s client profiles.
- The server file is the same release your players will install, not merely a similarly named pack.
- Any optional performance or content add-ons are included in that serverpack rather than being client-only downloads.
Public and custom packs without a supported serverpack may still require a conventional file-upload workflow. Do not assume that a pack’s popularity or download count makes it eligible.
Published CurseForge plan sizes and when they fit
| Plan | Monthly price | Published resources | Intended concurrent players | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | $12 per month | 4 GB RAM, 2 shared CPUs | 1–5 | Best for a small group and a relatively light pack; heavy packs can outgrow it even with fewer players. |
| Gold | $24 per month | 8 GB RAM, 3 shared CPUs | 6–15 | A middle tier for larger groups or packs with substantial memory demand. |
| Diamond | $36 per month | 12 GB RAM, 4 shared CPUs | 16–25 | Designed for the largest published player band; unusually demanding packs may still need more capacity if available. |
These prices and specifications are figures published by CurseForge Support in 2026. They are monthly subscription amounts, not one-time purchase prices. Player bands are guidance, not a performance guarantee: mod count, world-generation complexity, simulation distance and automation-heavy machines can consume memory and CPU faster than a simple player count suggests.

RAM
RAM holds the loaded mod code, world data, entities, chunks and caches. A pack with hundreds of mods can need a higher tier than a small pack even when only two people are online. Leave headroom for exploration and new dimensions rather than sizing to the minimum boot requirement.
CPU allocation
Shared CPU counts affect tick processing, world generation and machines that perform frequent calculations. If players report delayed block updates, mobs freezing or long pauses during exploration, the limiting factor may be CPU time rather than RAM. A plan upgrade is more useful than repeatedly restarting the same undersized instance.
Concurrent players and activity
“Five players” is not a universal workload. Five people building in one area is usually less demanding than five people generating separate terrain, loading multiple dimensions and running automation at the same time. Use the published player band as a starting point, then monitor the instance after your group explores and builds normally.
Region and latency
Choose the region closest to the majority of players, not necessarily the server owner. Physical distance and network routing affect input delay and the feel of combat, movement and block placement. A geographically central region is often fairer for a distributed group than optimizing for one person.

How friends join without rebuilding the mod list
The owner’s share link or code represents an existing server profile; it does not create a separately billed server for every recipient. Each friend imports that profile in CurseForge and receives the matching client-side modpack and connection information.
- Copy the current direct link or import code from the server management view.
- Send it to players who already have the CurseForge app and the required Minecraft account or edition access.
- Have each player add or import the profile in CurseForge rather than selecting a similarly named pack manually.
- Ask players to launch the imported profile and use its server connection entry.
- If the link or code has expired, generate a new one and resend it; time-limited invitations are an intentional security and sharing control.
A profile import prevents the common error where one player is on a different patch or loader build. It does not bypass account authentication, server whitelist rules or any access controls you configure in the host panel.
How other one-click hosts differ
One-click installation is not unique to a single marketplace. The advertised integration still needs to be checked against the exact pack and version you want.
| Provider or service | Published one-click scope | What to verify before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| CurseForge hosted servers | Creates a hosted multiplayer server from an eligible CurseForge pack; the app supplies profile sharing and management access. | Matching serverpack, selected server file/version, region, RAM/CPU tier, subscription terms and which support channel handles an incident. |
| AleForge | Advertises one-click installs from CurseForge, FTB, Technic and other launchers. | Whether your exact pack, Minecraft version and loader are in the current installer catalog; backup, file-access and cancellation details. |
| CakeHosting | Advertises one-click installation from CurseForge, Modrinth and Feed The Beast. | Whether the listed pack is a server-ready release and what resources, regions and restore controls are included in the selected plan. |
| Modrinth hosting | Official hosting information describes integrated modpack installation and support for Fabric, Quilt, Forge, NeoForge, Paper and Purpur. | Exact pack/version eligibility, allocation limits, player guidance, panel features and billing terms for the region you need. |
Do not compare providers only by the presence of an “install” button. Compare the deployment result and the controls you retain after installation.

- Pack identity: Is the precise release supported, including its serverpack?
- Version and loader: Are Minecraft and Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt or another loader explicitly listed?
- Resources: How much RAM and CPU are dedicated or shared, and what player count does the provider publish?
- Location: Is there a region that keeps most players’ latency reasonable?
- Backups: Can you schedule, download and restore backups, and are restore points retained separately from the live disk?
- File access: Can you inspect logs, edit server properties and add approved configuration files?
- Support ownership: Is help provided by the marketplace, the hosting partner or a separate billing platform?
- Billing: Is the charge recurring, when does provisioning begin, and how do cancellation and refunds work?
- Sharing: Can friends import a profile, and how long do links or codes remain valid?
- Author programs: If a referral or reward program matters to you, verify its current eligibility and terms on the provider’s official page rather than relying on an old post.
Know who handles each part of the service
A marketplace interface, payment processor and infrastructure operator may be different entities. In the CurseForge flow, Tebex handles checkout, CurseForge presents the pack-selection experience, and Shockbyte is identified as the hosting partner that provisions the server and supplies management and support. That division matters when a charge succeeds but a server is not visible, or when a technical fault needs escalation.

The pack does not offer a server option
The pack likely has no matching serverpack in the automated catalog. Choose a release that does, or use a host that supports manual server-file deployment. Do not upload only the client profile and expect it to function as a server.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Players see a missing-mod or wrong-version error
Have every player import the owner’s current profile link or code, then compare the displayed Minecraft version and loader. Reinstalling individual mods can create a new mismatch if the serverpack has changed.
The server starts but becomes unstable under exploration
Check RAM and CPU usage while players generate new terrain and visit other dimensions. Reduce simultaneous exploration or move to a higher tier if the workload exceeds the published plan guidance. Keep a backup before changing the pack version or major configuration.
The invitation no longer works
Links and codes are time-limited. Generate a new invitation from the server profile instead of repeatedly retrying an expired one.
Best Value
Latency is poor for part of the group
Review the region selected at purchase. If most players are elsewhere, a central or majority-friendly region can improve the group experience; individual home-network issues will require separate troubleshooting.

What the evidence does—and does not—establish
The published material establishes the workflow, supported-pack requirement, plan figures and profile-sharing behavior. It does not provide an independent uptime study or neutral performance benchmark comparing hosts. Treat provider player counts and resource guidance as published specifications, not laboratory guarantees. Real performance depends on the pack, world, settings, region and simultaneous activity.
Decision guide: which setup fits your group?
- Choose the integrated CurseForge route when your pack has a listed serverpack and your priority is the shortest path from selection to an invite link.
- Compare a broader host catalog when you use packs from several launchers or need manual file access, custom configurations or a loader outside one marketplace’s catalog.
- Favor a larger tier when the pack is known to be memory-heavy, players spread out during exploration or automation and multiple dimensions will be active.
- Delay purchase when you cannot confirm the exact serverpack/version, region, recurring price or restore process. A one-click deployment of the wrong files is still the wrong server.
The Bottom Line
One-click modpack hosting is automated deployment, not a guarantee that every pack or workload will fit. Confirm the serverpack and loader, choose resources and region for the real group, and use the profile link or code so friends receive the same client setup.
