OneStream’s playlist feature is designed to play multiple selected videos back-to-back in one live broadcast, but its public guidance does not identify one universal cause or fix for stopping after exactly the first item. Use the checks below to narrow down what failed.
Confirm you are troubleshooting the right playlist
This guide covers a pre-recorded playlist that you set up in OneStream and send to YouTube. OneStream describes that feature as queuing multiple videos in a single live broadcast. If you mean a regular YouTube watch playlist that stops while someone watches it, these OneStream broadcast checks do not diagnose that playback issue. OneStream’s playlist instructions were last updated September 10, 2026.
Check that your plan supports playlists
OneStream’s documentation says playlist streaming is available on Professional and Enterprise plans; its Free plan does not support creating or streaming playlists. If you cannot find the playlist setup option, check your plan before treating the issue as a media or YouTube fault. OneStream’s current Free Plan limitations also list a 15-minute limit for pre-recorded live streams, two simultaneous destinations, up to 720p, 1 GB of uploaded-video/media storage, and 60-day retention for uploaded videos. Plan specifications can change, so check OneStream’s Getting Started and Free Plan Limitations page, last updated August 24, 2026.
Work through the likely causes in order
1. Verify every video in the sequence
- Open the scheduled broadcast and make sure every intended video is included and in the intended order.
- Check that each file finished uploading and processing before the broadcast began. An incomplete upload can prevent a video from playing through correctly.
- If the stream ends or fails around a particular file, check that file for damage and whether OneStream accepts its format. OneStream’s troubleshooting overview lists unsupported video or audio formats, corrupted media, and incomplete uploads as possible causes of pre-recorded streams ending early. It does not specify a codec or format fix for this exact first-video symptom, so do not assume a particular conversion setting is required.
2. Confirm the schedule and YouTube destination
OneStream’s setup flow is to open Pre-recorded Stream, select Add Videos, choose the files, continue, select social destinations, enter stream details, and click Schedule Broadcast. Reopen the scheduled broadcast and check that its video list, start time, stream details, and destination match what you intended. OneStream’s YouTube setup instructions require connecting the YouTube account under Social Platforms first; the connected account should then be available to select as a destination when you schedule the stream. See OneStream’s YouTube setup guide, last updated August 18, 2026.

A disconnected or invalid destination, an incorrect schedule, or an error on the destination platform can also interrupt a pre-recorded broadcast, according to OneStream’s general troubleshooting guidance.
3. Note exactly what happens when video one ends
- Does the broadcast fail immediately, remain pending or processing, show a black screen or playback error, or end before the media finishes?
- Which video was playing, and had it completed uploading and processing?
- Does the YouTube live event itself remain live after OneStream stops sending video, or does the event end too?
- Record the displayed status and any error message. OneStream’s public overview lists several failure symptoms but does not define exact status meanings or give a symptom-specific repair for a playlist that stops after its first item.
These details help distinguish a file or sequence problem from a schedule, connection, or destination-platform issue; the symptom alone does not establish which one occurred. OneStream’s Troubleshooting category lists general causes for pre-recorded streams that stop before their video finishes, including upload-network interruptions and destination-platform errors.

4. Contact OneStream support if it still stops after item one
If the checks above do not isolate the problem, send OneStream support the stream ID or schedule, account plan, selected YouTube destination, video order, each file’s upload and processing state, the item playing when the stream stopped, and the displayed status or error. The published guidance does not establish a single confirmed repair for this exact symptom, so a case-specific diagnosis may be necessary.
Do not confuse a playlist broadcast with 24/7 streaming
A standard pre-recorded playlist sequences selected videos in one broadcast. OneStream’s separate 24/7 mode is for continuous streaming to YouTube, requires the Enterprise plan, and starts at Create > 24-hour Stream. Its setup requires choosing videos and a YouTube channel, entering stream details, setting a schedule and duration; OneStream states a maximum duration of 30 days. It is a distinct feature, not a setting that automatically fixes an ordinary playlist that stops after its first video. See OneStream’s 24/7 streaming guide, last updated September 3, 2026.
