The move followed a rough Stage II and left little time for the revised lineup to prepare.
What happened to Kenny at OpTic Texas?
OpTic posted a farewell message to Kenny on March 17, 2025. Insider Gaming reproduced the message as: “A true World Champion, in and out of the game. We’re grateful for the leadership and legacy you’ve built with OpTic Thank you, @Kuavo 🦖” The post text, as reproduced in the report, has no visible punctuation between “OpTic” and “Thank you.” Insider Gaming’s March 17 report covered the announcement.

Breaking Point described the move as a release from the starting roster and reported that Skyz was signed in Kenny’s place. That distinction matters: OpTic’s farewell post acknowledged Kenny’s departure, while the replacement and roster details were reported by Breaking Point.
Who joined the starting lineup?
Breaking Point listed OpTic Texas’s revised Major II lineup as:
#1 Best Overall
- Bakker & Elkhuizen
- Mouse
- Colour: Black
- Package Dimensions: 14.8 L x 9.2 H x 10.2 W (cm)
- Model number: BNEEVR4S
- Brandon “Dashy” Otell
- Amer “Pred” Zulbeari
- Cesar “Skyz” Bueno
- Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro
The outlet listed Damon “Karma” Barlow and JohnPaul “JPKrez” Krez as coaches. Breaking Point’s announcement-day coverage said the team would enter Major II without having practiced together as the revised lineup.
Why did OpTic make the change before Major II?
The move came after a difficult Stage II stretch. Breaking Point reported that OpTic went 1–6 in Stage II qualifiers, placed in the top eight of the Minor after beating Vegas Falcons, and had an 18-map losing streak that ended against LA Guerrillas M8. Those are figures reported by the outlet, rather than an official league statistical record.

Insider Gaming separately described an 0–18 map streak before OpTic’s win against LAG M8 and reported a 0.3 K/D series against Toronto Ultra. These are contemporaneous claims from that article, not established here as official all-time records.
The results help explain the pressure around the roster decision, but they do not establish the organization’s full reasoning. The timing itself was especially notable: Breaking Point reported that the change left little time before Major II and that Kenny had been part of the planned ring ceremony for the previous season’s championship.

Which Major II does the headline mean?
This story concerns the 2025 CDL season. It is separate from the 2026 Major II dates: the official Call of Duty League schedule lists the 2026 Major II window as February 13 through March 29, 2026. Those dates do not refer to the event Kenny’s roster change preceded.
Where did Kenny play later?
Kenny’s departure from OpTic in March 2025 was not the end of his CDL career. In a September 25, 2025 announcement, LA Thieves named him in its 2026 starting lineup alongside aBeZy, HyDra, and Scrap. The LA Thieves roster announcement provides that later-career context.
