The patch notes describe a wide-ranging set of fixes for collision, cameras, progression, level behavior, loading and online scoring, along with a change intended to make the opening puzzle in Frozen Depths less confusing. They do not describe new levels or modes.
What does the Orbitals 1.0.5 update change?
The patch notes, reported by Nintendo Life on October 6, list fixes across several parts of the game:

- Movement and presentation: Various collision and camera fixes, plus a fix for half the host player’s screen turning black when leaving the ship.
- Progression and controls: A fix for players being sent to the main menu instead of the credits after completing the game; a fix for getting stuck in the gunner seat after installing Push Cannon; and a Forge ground-pound control fix.
- Level-specific issues: Fixes for the laser in Frozen Depths’ hot-floor section, unusual mushroom behavior in Secret Gardens, and oxygen depletion failing to kill the player during the Capy rescue section of Secret Gardens.
- Loading: The notes say long loading times were reduced in Asteroid Core levels and Frozen Depths.
- Items and interface: Fixes involving the Reactor Cassette, Liquid launcher, Supply Station parking spot and Jump-pack text. Emote bubbles and character icons are restored after the Forge section.
- Online play and effects: Fixes for Slap-stick score synchronization and confetti timing, an Animated Pile Of Junk animation, and Laser Tag respawn visual effects.
- Dialogue: A fix for repeated Maki dialogue and increased character dialogue volume during boss fights.
What changed in Frozen Depths?
Alongside bug fixes, version 1.0.5 adjusts the opening Frozen Depths puzzle to make it less confusing. The notes do not explain the specific puzzle change. They describe no new stages, modes or other added content.
What kind of game is Orbitals?
Orbitals is a two-player co-op puzzle adventure for Nintendo Switch 2, featuring explorers Maki and Omura, character-specific tools and ship-piloting sequences. Nintendo lists both local and online play and gives September 3, 2026, as the release date. Its listing credits Kepler Interactive as publisher and Shapefarm as developer. How to get the update
The cited patch report and Nintendo listing do not establish an installation path or region-by-region rollout timing. Check the game’s update status on your Switch 2 rather than assuming the patch is available at the same time in every region.
