Blizzard later revealed that hero as Hazard, a Tank linked to the Phreaks, offered players a short unranked trial, and launched him with Season 14 on December 10, 2024.
What was the Oasis teaser?
During Season 13, players could spot Phreaks graffiti on Oasis, a clue that a new hero was approaching. Kotaku reported on the in-game detail on November 19, 2024; Blizzard’s later announcement confirmed Hazard’s identity, but the specific graffiti account comes from that contemporaneous reporting: Kotaku’s report on the Oasis teaser.
The graffiti was an early in-game hint, not the hero reveal itself. Blizzard formally introduced Hazard in its “Hazardous Tactics” trailer on November 19, showing the Phreaks causing chaos on Oasis.

November 19: Blizzard reveals Hazard
Blizzard identified Hazard as a Scottish Tank associated with the Phreaks, a group with a punk ethos. His story centers on fighting oppression. Blizzard characterized his style as a mobile brawl-dive disruptor with an ability to place a wall. Read the official Hazard hero article.

November 22–25: A limited Hero Trial
Players could try Hazard in unranked games from November 22 through November 25, 2024. He was not available in Competitive during the trial. Blizzard’s November 22 patch notes list his abilities: Bonespur (primary fire), Spike Guard (secondary fire), Violent Leap, Jagged Wall, Downpour (ultimate), and Vault (passive).
December 5: Season 14 trailer
PlayOverwatch published the official Season 14 trailer on December 5, announcing Hazard’s arrival on December 10. Its description called him “our rebellious new hero.” The official PlayOverwatch channel carries the trailer.

December 10: Hazard launches with Season 14
Season 14 and Hazard’s full release began on December 10, 2024. The season also included a limited 6v6 Role Queue event with two Tanks, two Damage heroes, and two Supports; Mythic Thor Reinhardt; Premium Battle Pass cosmetics; and seasonal events including Winter Wonderland. Hazard’s abilities support an aggressive, mobile Tank playstyle, with Jagged Wall adding a way to shape the fight. Blizzard described him in the November 22 patch notes as: “This brawl dive disruptor is here to fight against injustice with high mobility and a wall-placing ability that brings new layers of strategy to the game.”
