VPEsports reported that players had to redeem 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points, and that eligibility was limited to certain regions. The offer is historical; its current availability has not been established.
What did the offer include?
VPEsports reported that the Microsoft Rewards catalog offered the Octopus Lucio Epic skin together with 1,000 Overwatch Coins. The reported redemption price was 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points. Those terms come from secondary reporting, not an official Microsoft or Blizzard redemption page.

What was the catch?
“Free” meant no separately reported cash price for the reward, not that players could claim it without earning anything. The reported exchange required 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points, which take time and qualifying activity to accumulate. The report also listed regional restrictions.

Can you still redeem it?
Current availability is not established by the available sources. Check the live Microsoft Rewards catalog in your account before earning points or relying on old instructions; an expired or absent listing cannot be redeemed. The VPEsports article mentions an October 21 cutoff in connection with a separate Game Pass-linked reward bundle, but its wording does not establish that date as the Octopus Lucio redemption deadline.

Blizzard’s historical Overwatch 2 overview described the game as free-to-play and listed the original Premium Battle Pass at 1,000 Overwatch Coins. That is historical pricing context, not a current price quote or a detail of the Microsoft Rewards offer. Blizzard’s Season 14 announcement also described two Epic skins and 600 Coins among that season’s free Battle Pass rewards; those were season-specific rewards, not proof that the Microsoft Rewards offer—or Season 14 rewards—remain available.
