There is no single return schedule for Overwatch skins. Some older event skins are permanently listed in the Hero Gallery, Mythic skins follow a separate shop system, and other event or collaboration cosmetics may only be offered for a dated window. To find out whether a particular skin is available now, check its in-game listing and the relevant current event announcement; historical announcements do not establish what is in the live shop or when an item will return.
How Overwatch Shop rotations work
Blizzard introduced the Shop as a mix of featured cosmetics, personalized “Just for You” offers, and rotating bundles. Its 2022 explanation said featured cosmetic items would be offered every week, but that is a description of the system at launch—not a promise that every section or skin follows a fixed current schedule. As a result, a skin disappearing from a featured offer does not tell you when it will be offered again. Treat a dated in-game listing or event announcement as evidence for that offer, rather than assuming a recurring rotation.
Which skins stay available in the Hero Gallery?
There is a defined exception for a set of older cosmetics. In its Season 3 announcement on February 6, 2023, Blizzard said nearly all Epic and Legendary event hero skins from the original Overwatch—300 total—had been added to the Hero Gallery and would always be purchasable with Overwatch Coins or Credits. For one of these legacy skins, look in the Hero Gallery rather than waiting for it to appear as a featured Shop offer. Check the individual listing for its current availability and eligible currency.
How Mythic skin availability differs
Mythic skins use their own shop and currency. In its May 8, 2024 Mythic Shop announcement, Blizzard described the featured Mythic as redeemable during its season, then cycling out for the next two seasons. Previous Mythics could be offered in the Mythic Shop, but Blizzard cautioned that not every past Mythic would be available immediately. Mythic Prisms unlock Mythic skins and their customizations. Overwatch Coins and Credits cannot be exchanged for Prisms, so a skin’s category determines which currency route applies. Blizzard’s April 2024 developer update also discussed its Mythic and hero-release plans.
Event and collaboration skins may have a limited window
Some event rewards and Shop bundles are tied to a particular event and published dates. For example, Blizzard’s April 2025 Season 16 announcement and August 2025 Overwatch 2 x NERF announcement describe time-bound offerings. Use the dates and conditions in the announcement for that event; neither establishes a general return schedule for limited-time cosmetics.

A limited window does not by itself prove that a skin is permanently exclusive, nor does a past appearance guarantee a future return. If Blizzard has not announced another window, the return date is unknown.

Blizzard has also used personalized temporary offers. Its Season 14 midseason announcement described Maximilien’s Vault as offering discounts based on play preferences, with offers disappearing when that limited-time shop event ended. How to check whether a specific skin is available
- Identify the cosmetic’s category. Check whether it is an original Overwatch event hero skin, a Mythic, or an event, collaboration, or other Shop cosmetic.
- For an original-game event hero skin, search the Hero Gallery and inspect the listing for its purchase option and currency.
- For a Mythic, check the Mythic Shop and the skin’s current unlock options. Do not assume Coins or Credits can buy Mythic Prisms.
- For an event or collaboration item, check the current in-game offer and the event announcement’s dates. If neither gives a return date, one has not been established.
- For featured or personalized Shop offers, rely on the live Shop rather than predicting when an item will rotate back.
Blizzard’s Season 10 announcement is another dated example of official season information; as with other historical announcements, it should not be read as a live catalog.
