Palia’s “Fall Fantasy: The Spiritfest Spectacle” was Patch 0.196, released October 7, 2025. It brought Halloween-season activities and decorations to the cozy game, along with Goobis, multiplayer ranching, and interactive home furniture. It is a past update: Palia’s later 2026 Spiritfest arrived in Patch 0.207, with a different quest and rewards lineup.
What Spiritfest added in Patch 0.196
The 2025 event mixed seasonal collecting with home and ranch improvements. Its central activities were four Bulletin Board bundles themed around shrine offerings, food for the Spiritfest feast, and the celebration. Completing bundles also unlocked some curios and earned rewards such as the Spooky Fishing Bobber, a flower for the store, and the Jack O’ Lantern Lure.
Find candy and complete the bundles
Candy hunting sent players across several activities: candies could be found by fishing, catching insects, mining, and rummaging in the Elderwood. The bundles made Spiritfest more than a decorating event, tying seasonal rewards to exploring and gathering.
Use the seasonal lure to find Pumpkin Rockhoppers
The Jack O’ Lantern Lure worked like a honey lure, but summoned Pumpkin Rockhoppers. It could not be crafted and was available only during the event. The official Patch 0.196 notes said: “The Jack O’ Lantern Lure cannot be crafted and is only available during the event, but it will return in future years.” The notes establish that a return was planned, not that the item would be available year-round.

Decorate for the season
The Spooky Moon Store brought back seasonal goods and added new ones, including pumpkins, Ravenwood fencing, cobwebs, wallpaper, and floating candles. Some curios were tied to completing Bulletin Board bundles rather than simply buying decorations.
Goobis and ranching changes
Patch 0.196 brought the Goobi into ranching and added ways for visitors to help care for animals. The official patch notes describe six possible Goobi color traits and three flower traits.

Get and care for a Goobi
Players at ranching skill level 10 could obtain a Goobi through the Ranching Guild Store. Cared-for Goobis produced foraged flowers, giving the animal a practical role as well as a seasonal appeal.
Let visitors help with your ranch
Multiplayer ranching let visitors pet and feed animals and help collect items. Experience was shared, but collected items went to the plot owner. A pen could hold up to 10 animals.

The patch also adjusted ranching mechanics: animal happiness decay fell from 5 to 4, and the production limit rose from 2 to 3, according to the official Patch 0.196 notes.
Small changes to home life and player profiles
Home-plot beds and benches became interactive. Players could nap in beds or sit on benches, including sitting with a friend. The change gave furniture a social and functional use beyond decorating a plot.

Player Profiles made it possible to inspect another character, see selected equipment and profile details, and visit that player’s plot. Players could control which profile details were displayed.
Optional Premium Store cosmetics
The Premium Store additions included Heavenly Creatures outfits, emotes, Goobi pets, spooky makeup, a Ghostly Glider, tool skins, and a limited Hollow Grove landscape. These were optional digital cosmetics, not requirements for participating in Spiritfest. The patch page lists prices in Palia Coins.

How the 2025 update differs from 2026 Spiritfest
Patch 0.196 is not the current Spiritfest update. Palia published Patch 0.207, “Fall’s Faire: Frights & Delights,” on September 29, 2026. Its official notes say that the 2026 event runs through the end of October 2026. The two patches belong to different event seasons, so their activities and dates should not be conflated.
