But a confirmed release date, platforms, store page, and current availability have not been established.
Why the announcement looked like an April Fools’ joke
Pocketpair’s official Palworld channel posted the dating-sim announcement video on March 31, 2024, naming the project Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~. Its description included the #AprilFoolsDay tag, giving viewers an obvious reason to suspect it was a joke. The original announcement is still useful context for that initial reaction.
In 2026 coverage, Pocketpair was reported to have clarified that the project was not an April Fools’ joke. Insider Gaming covered the clarification, while GamesRadar+ described the reported premise as a dating sim set at Private Palpagos Academy.
What is known about the game
The announced project is called Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~. The school setting is reported coverage of its premise, not a comprehensive official feature list. GamesRadar+ also reported that Pocketpair head of publishing and communications John “Bucky” Buckley said in the company’s official Discord: “We’re not making an 18+ sex game.” That statement addresses explicit content; it does not establish a formal rating or describe every aspect of the game.

When does More Than Just Pals come out?
No confirmed release date, supported platforms, pricing, official store page, or present purchase availability has been established by the sources available. The announcement confirms a project, not that it is released or playable. Treat claims of a launch date or a live listing as unverified unless Pocketpair provides newer official information.
Is this the same game as Palworld on Steam?
No. Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~ is the announced dating-sim project; the Steam listing is for the separate main Palworld game, described there as an open-world survival and crafting game. Steam identifies Pocketpair as developer and publisher and lists July 9, 2026 as the main game’s release date. That listing does not establish a release for the dating sim. See the Palworld Steam listing.

Palworld merchandise is a separate matter
A 2024 Sony Music Entertainment announcement describes a joint venture with Aniplex and Pocketpair to develop exclusive Palworld merchandise. That supports the existence of a franchise merchandise initiative, but does not confirm current stock at any retailer or the availability of a physical edition of the dating sim.
