Pocketpair’s Palworld v0.4.11 update, Feybreak, adds a new island, resources, Pals, bounty encounters, oil rigs and a raid—alongside changes to base progression, modes and equipment. Pocketpair announced the update as released on 22 December 2024; its notice does not specify platform-by-platform rollout dates.
What Feybreak adds for exploration
Feybreak is a mysterious island with glowing sand, new Pals and challenges. The update also introduces the Feybreak Warriors, a faction with a missile battery camp. Pocketpair’s announcement does not specify the island’s size, coordinates, recommended level or a total Pal count.
New resources: Chromite and Hexolite Quartz
- Chromite is buried underground. Players can locate it with a Pal or item that detects metal; Pocketpair specifically lists the Metal Detector.
- Hexolite Quartz is exclusive to Feybreak.
The distinction matters when planning resource runs: Chromite detection is the stated way to find a buried deposit, while Hexolite Quartz requires a trip to the new island.
How the update changes base progression
Expeditions
Build and use the Pal Expedition Station to send Pals out for supplies. The update describes this as a way to obtain resources through a Pal expedition rather than gathering them directly.

Research and productivity
At the Pal Labor Research Laboratory, research unlocks permanent passives and rewards that increase base productivity. Some existing work-speed buildings are also available as research rewards. Pocketpair describes these as lasting progression rewards, not temporary boosts.
Bounties, bosses and tougher fights
Bounty NPCs and Successful Bounty Tokens
Bounty NPCs are criminals found around the Palpagos Islands, and the update offers rewards for bringing them to justice. Separately, defeating field bosses can award Successful Bounty Tokens, which grant permanent player passives. The announcement does not provide a complete list of targets or a step-by-step bounty process.

Predator Pals and the Xenolord raid
Predator Pals appear throughout the world. Pocketpair characterizes them as extremely difficult opponents that yield rare resources when defeated. Feybreak also adds the Xenolord raid for players seeking a major combat challenge.
Two oil rigs with different difficulty cues
The Platform Oil Rig is a large, difficult encounter guarded by an Attack Chopper. The smaller Barge Oil Rig is described by Pocketpair as “for beginners.” That label is relative to the larger rig; the announcement does not give a level recommendation or guarantee that the barge is easy for every party.

New equipment, modes and other changes
Feybreak is broader than a new map. Pocketpair’s v0.4.11 announcement lists these additional changes and content:
- Progression and capture: the player level cap rises to 60, and Sphere Modules alter sphere trajectories while increasing capture rate.
- Items and movement: the Metal Detector, inventory pouches, Double Jump Boots, Air Dash Boots and Revival Potion are added.
- Weapons and crossover content: new weapons include Meowmere, the Terraria-linked weapon.
- Modes: Hardcore Mode makes player and Pal deaths permanent; Random Pal Mode offers a different way to play.
- World and base content: new buildings, Pal skills and Christmas skins join improvements to UI, base building and server settings.
- Balance: the patch notes change Felbat and Lovander partner-skill recovery from 6% to 10%. This is a stated game-mechanic adjustment, not an independently measured result.
