In Palworld, Gold Coins come from loot, combat drops, ranch output, crafting, merchant sales, and—in the Palworld 1.0 item data—a Bounty Token exchange. You can spend them with merchants on items and Pals. Some sources also list Pal enhancement services, but check those options in your current game version.
How to get Gold Coins
There is no single proven fastest method: the available guides do not compare time per coin. Your best route depends on whether you are exploring, fighting, managing a base, or have surplus goods to sell.
Loot from activities and locations
A PalMods guide updated July 15, 2026, and labeled for Palworld 1.0, records Gold Coins in 113 loot pools spanning enemy camps, fishing, dungeon rewards, salvage, treasure chests, and Oil Rig activity. Its dataset includes a World Tree treasure chest pool with 7,000–7,500 coins and a Sky Island enemy camp pool with 5,000–5,500. Treat these as amounts listed for those particular pools, not guaranteed rewards from every chest or run. See the PalMods Gold Coin guide.
Combat drops
The same 1.0 guide records different coin amounts and drop rates by enemy. For example, it lists Mimog at a 100% drop rate for 1,000–2,000 coins; Dumud Gild and Mau at 50% for 100–200; Vanwyrm at 10% for 10–40; and Direhowl at 3% for 10–20. The guide also records 10,000–15,000 coins for some Dark Trader entries. These are guide-dataset figures, not independently tested guarantees, and enemy-specific values may change between versions.

Ranch production
The PalMods 1.0 dataset lists Dumud Gild, Mau, and Vixy as ranch sources. Its quantity ranges rise with ranch rank: Dumud Gild is listed at 100 coins at rank 1 and 100–1,000 at rank 10; Mau at 10 at rank 1 and 30–100 at rank 10; and Vixy at 10 at rank 1 and 100 at rank 10. The guide does not state a production interval, so these quantities cannot be converted into a coins-per-hour rate.
Sell surplus items or Pals
The Palworld Wiki says merchants buy items and Pals for Gold Coins. This can turn excess inventory or Pals into spending money; check the merchant’s offers and prices in your game before deciding what to sell. The Wiki’s Wandering Merchant page describes merchants as both buyers and sellers.

Exchange a Bounty Token
The PalMods 1.0 guide records a Bounty Officer offer of 2,000 Gold Coins for 1 Bounty Token and shows three mapped locations. This is a token-for-coins exchange, not a free reward; whether it suits you depends on the value you place on that token. Check the guide’s Bounty Officer entries.
Craft coins—but verify the recipe in your version
Crafting requirements are inconsistent across the available references. PalMods’ 1.0 data records a recipe yielding 20,000 coins from 30 Ingots and does not record a technology or schematic gate. The Palworld Wiki’s indexed result instead describes a Gold Coin Assembly Line unlocked at technology level 73, using 30 Soralite Ingots, electricity, and a Pal with Handiwork. Because the material and unlock details conflict, use the recipe and unlock shown in your own Technology menu and Assembly Line before committing resources.

The Wiki result also warns that coin production on the Assembly Line can cause faster Sanity loss for assigned Pals and PIDF raids. That claim is version-sensitive and is not corroborated by the PalMods guide; verify it in your game rather than assuming it applies to every version. The Wiki result is available on its Gold Coin Assembly Line page.
What Gold Coins can buy
The in-game description reproduced by the PalMods guide says: “Currency traded on Palpagos Island” and “Can be exchanged for items or Pals with merchants.” Merchant inventories and prices determine what is useful to buy, so review the options available at the merchant you visit.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which earning route should you choose?
- If you are exploring: check activity and location loot pools; the 1.0 guide lists coins from several types of exploration content, but its pool values are not universal guarantees.
- If you are already fighting: Mimog is the standout listed drop in the 1.0 guide, at 1,000–2,000 coins and a recorded 100% rate. Treat that as dataset information rather than a promise for every current build.
- If you want base production: ranch output is an option for Dumud Gild, Mau, or Vixy in the 1.0 dataset. It gives quantities by rank, not production speed.
- If you have surplus inventory or Pals: sell them to merchants, comparing what you receive with what you would rather keep.
- If you have Bounty Tokens or materials: compare their value to the listed coin exchange or your verified in-game crafting recipe before spending them.
Because the sources do not provide comparable time-per-coin measurements, none of these routes can be called universally fastest. The crafting discrepancy and version-sensitive claims are especially good reasons to use the current in-game recipe and merchant screens as your final check.
