When did the Tides of Terraria update launch?
Pocketpair announced on June 19, 2025, that Palworld: Tides of Terraria would arrive on Wednesday, June 25. The update began distribution that day, according to the company’s June 25 press release. It is a past release, not a newly announced update.
Pocketpair described the patch as a major update built around a collaboration with Terraria, while also previewing new Pals and islands. In its announcement, Pocketpair said Terraria had sold over 60 million copies worldwide; that is the publisher’s statement from June 2025, not a current independently verified sales total. What does the Terraria crossover add?
The collaboration brings Terraria monsters into the Palworld setting and gameplay loop. Pocketpair’s launch-day description says players can capture, raise, fight and put these monsters to work like Pals. The crossover is therefore more than a themed cosmetic mention: its premise is that Terraria creatures participate in the core activities of Palworld.

What else was included in the update?
In its launch post, Palworld’s official English account announced: “The long-awaited Palworld x Terraria update is out now!✨ Fishing, salvaging, bigger towns, Pal trust and more!” The post establishes those feature names, while Pocketpair’s earlier announcement also mentioned new Pals and new islands.

- Salvaging: also listed as an addition, alongside fishing.
- Pal Trust: a named Pal-related mechanic included in the update.
- Bigger towns: an announced change alongside the new systems.
- New Pals and islands: previewed by Pocketpair before release.
The official launch post does not explain how to fish or salvage, how Pal Trust progresses or affects gameplay, or what specifically changes in towns. It also does not provide a complete feature inventory, so those details should not be inferred from the feature names alone. Do you need Terraria merchandise to access the update?
No merchandise is needed to use the game update or its crossover content. Terraria community news has mentioned Hystar desk mats being available through Amazon, but that is separate fan merchandise—not an identified Palworld x Terraria product—and current listings, stock and regional availability can change. The Terraria community update also points to the game’s merchandise hub.
