Palbreed’s current English-language directory, updated August 14, 2026, lists 43 Pals with Medicine Production suitability and ranks them by level. Those levels describe work suitability, not laboratory-tested items per minute. The table below combines that ranking with the practical role each Pal can play in a base.

For a dedicated, high-volume medicine base, aim for the highest-level worker you can actually keep assigned. For occasional cures, a flexible Pal already living at the base can be more practical than waiting for an endgame boss.

What Medicine Production does
Medicine Production is a Pal work suitability used to craft medical items at medicine-related workbenches. The Palworld Wiki lists the Medieval Medicine Workbench and Electric Medicine Workbench as the relevant facilities. At a Medieval Medicine Workbench, an eligible Pal can take a queued medicine recipe and work on it, but the bench has one Pal work slot at a time.
To use a finished medicine, open your inventory, select the item and feed it to the affected Pal. Medicine items address ailments and status conditions rather than increasing a worker’s general crafting speed. The medicine recipe and the condition it treats determine which item you need; the worker’s job is to produce the item at the bench.

Why Silvance is the level leader but not always the best first choice
Raw suitability
Silvance leads the reviewed ranking. If your only criterion is the highest listed Medicine Production suitability, it is the answer. PC Gamer’s current guide also places Silvance at the top and describes it as a World Tree boss.
Late-game availability
A World Tree boss is not an early progression recommendation. Players who have not reached that encounter should use an available lower-tier Pal rather than leaving medicine queued for a worker they cannot yet obtain. The sources do not establish a universal unlock level or capture sequence for every alternative, so availability must be checked against your own world and current game version.
Competing assignments
Palbreed lists Silvance with Planting and Handiwork suitability in addition to Medicine Production. Those are valuable skills in a mixed base, but they create assignment competition. If a planting or handiwork task is available, Silvance may leave the medicine bench unless you control its work priorities or use a dedicated base.
When to choose Lyleen Noct or Bellanoir Libero
Lyleen Noct and Bellanoir Libero are the next tier in Palbreed’s current data. They are sensible targets when you want stronger medicine work than the early alternatives provide but do not yet have Silvance. PC Gamer specifically names Lyleen Noct as just below Silvance in its current guide.

The inspected sources establish their suitability ranking, not a shared unlock condition, capture location or progression date. Treat each as a separate availability question in your own save. If one is accessible and the other is not, use the one you can reliably assign rather than delaying production for a theoretical ranking advantage.
Mycora: the team-support option
Mycora is different from a simple level comparison. Palbreed describes its Partner Skill as raising Medicine Production level for other Pals assigned at the same base. That makes Mycora attractive when several medicine workers are active and the base is organized around a sustained queue.
Mycora should be viewed as a composition tool, not as a replacement for the level leader in every situation. In a small base with one bench and an occasional recipe, dedicating a slot to support may provide less value than assigning the best direct worker you already own. In a larger operation with several medicine-capable Pals, the support effect can justify a place on the roster. The reviewed sources do not provide a controlled experiment that converts the Partner Skill into a specific number of extra items per minute, so use it as a strategic advantage rather than a guaranteed speed percentage.
Flexible workers for a shared workshop
Wistella
Wistella combines Medicine Production with level 6 Handiwork in Palbreed’s listing. It can cover a medicine queue and general crafting in the same base, reducing the number of separate specialists you need. The trade-off is reliability: when handiwork is available, the Pal may select that job unless medicine is prioritized.
Selyne
Selyne is listed with level 6 Medicine Production and level 7 Handiwork. It is especially useful in a workshop base where handiwork demand is high, but that high-value secondary suitability also makes assignment conflicts more likely.
Silvance as a hybrid
Silvance is listed with level 6 Handiwork alongside its top Medicine Production suitability. That combination is convenient once you have it, but a hybrid worker should not be mistaken for a dedicated bench attendant. Use work filters, direct assignments or a separate medicine base when a cure is urgent.
Earlier progression choices
Players who are still building their first medicine bench can use the lower-level options in Palbreed’s directory. Petallia, Icelyn and Dupin are listed at level 4. Vaelet, Lovander and Felbat are listed at level 3, while Lifmunk and Flopie are listed at level 1.
These figures identify relative suitability in the current data; they do not prove that one option is obtainable before another in every world. The inspected material does not provide a dependable unlock-level or capture-location progression for each of them. Choose the worker already available to you, then replace it when a stronger candidate becomes practical.
How to assign a medicine worker step by step
- Build the appropriate bench. Place a Medieval Medicine Workbench for the early and midgame, or an Electric Medicine Workbench when your base has reached the stage where that facility is available.
- Check the Pal’s suitability. In the Pal management interface, confirm that the candidate has Medicine Production. A Pal without that suitability will not take the queued medicine job.
- Queue the recipe. Interact with the bench, select the medical item and add the quantity you need. The queue gives the worker a concrete task; without a queued recipe, the Pal may choose another available job.
- Set work priorities. If the Pal has Planting, Handiwork or another useful suitability, adjust the base’s work settings so the medicine bench is not constantly losing its worker to a competing task.
- Watch the first assignment. After the queue is created, verify that the intended Pal walks to the bench and begins production. If another Pal takes the job, remove conflicting assignments or temporarily move the competing worker.
- Feed the finished item to the affected Pal. Medicine is an inventory item. Crafting it does not automatically cure a condition; select the correct item and use it on the Pal that needs treatment.
How to choose between a specialist and a flexible Pal
Use the highest available level for a large queue
Repeated illness, a large breeding operation or a stockpile of several medicine recipes justifies a dedicated worker with the highest suitability you can access. This reduces the chance that a secondary task will interrupt the queue and makes the medicine bench easier to monitor.
Use a flexible Pal for occasional crafting
Medicine production is often an occasional task rather than a permanent factory line. Palbreed notes that secondary jobs can pull a Pal away from the bench. If you only craft a cure when a condition appears, a flexible worker already stationed at the base may be the best use of a slot.
Separate bases when reliability matters
A small medicine-focused base removes the competition created by planting, handiwork and other queues. This is more useful than adding multiple workers to one bench, because the Medieval Medicine Workbench has only one Pal work slot and does not let several Pals craft simultaneously at that single station.

Is there a fastest medicine Pal?
Silvance has the highest listed Medicine Production suitability, so it is the fastest answer only in the limited sense that it ranks highest for the work suitability. The reviewed Palbreed and PC Gamer material does not publish controlled crafting-time tests, items-per-minute measurements or a percentage advantage for any Pal.

Do not convert a suitability level into a precise time claim. Queue size, pathing, pauses, sanity, base layout and competing jobs can all affect what you observe in play. If you need a practical speed improvement, keep the bench close to storage and the worker’s living area, remove conflicting tasks and maintain a continuous queue rather than relying on an untested numerical multiplier.
Common assignment problems and fixes
The Pal ignores the medicine bench
Confirm that the Pal has Medicine Production and that a recipe is queued. Then check whether another work priority is attracting it. Clear the competing task, use a direct assignment to the bench where the interface allows it, or move the worker to a dedicated medicine base.
The queue is not progressing
Inspect the bench for the correct ingredients and make sure the worker can reach it. A high Medicine Production level does not bypass missing materials, blocked paths or an absent work slot.
Adding another worker does not make two items at once
The Medieval Medicine Workbench provides one Pal work slot. A second medicine-capable Pal can serve as a replacement when the first is busy, but both will not craft simultaneously at that single bench.
A hybrid Pal keeps switching jobs
This is expected when the base exposes several suitable tasks. Prioritize the medicine bench, remove unnecessary workstations, or reserve a separate worker for planting or handiwork. Wistella, Selyne and Silvance are useful hybrids precisely because they can cover more than one role, but that flexibility must be managed.
