Palworld’s March 19, 2025, version 0.5.0 was billed as the “Crossplay Update.” It added cross-play alongside a Global Palbox for moving Pals between worlds, expanded Pal storage, blueprint combining, Photo Mode, and cosmetic armor changes. The cross-play announcement said all platforms were included, but Pocketpair’s version-specific server guide drew an important distinction: co-op cross-play was available with PS5, while PS5 could not cross-play on the listed dedicated servers in version 0.5.0.
What Palworld update 0.5.0 added
Pocketpair’s March 19, 2025 announcement introduced these main features:
- Cross-play across platforms, subject to the server-mode caveat below.
- A Global Palbox for storing Pal data and transferring Pals between worlds.
- Dimensional Pal Storage, with guild access and private-use settings.
- An Antique Dresser for changing armor appearance without changing armor stats.
- Photo Mode, opened from the Pal Command Wheel.
- A Drafting Table for combining lower-rarity blueprints into higher-rarity ones.
- Dedicated servers for Mac.
Does Palworld 0.5.0 have cross-play?
Yes. Pocketpair’s announcement stated, “Cross-play is now available across all platforms.” That broad announcement needs context if you are choosing a multiplayer mode: the version 0.5.0 server guide treated co-op and server play differently.
Co-op sessions
Pocketpair’s guide says co-op cross-play is available, including with PS5. If you want to play together in a co-op session, this is the relevant mode to check.

Dedicated and community servers
The guide lists Steam, Xbox Series, the Windows PC Microsoft Store version, and macOS as cross-play-enabled groups for servers, but says PS5 cross-play on those servers is unavailable in version 0.5.0. It also says Xbox and PS5 players who want to join a server need it to be deployed as a community server.
A dedicated server runs independently of a player’s game client and is joined using an IP address and port. A community server is a dedicated server registered in Palworld’s in-game server list. These are distinct from a co-op session hosted through the game.

Global Palbox and Dimensional Pal Storage: what is the difference?
The Global Palbox is for moving Pal data between worlds. Dimensional Pal Storage is a larger storage option: Pocketpair described it as having 10 times the capacity of a regular Palbox. It can be shared with a guild, or configured for personal use with private settings. The announcement does not describe these two features as interchangeable: one supports transfers between worlds, while the other expands storage.
How do you upgrade blueprints in Palworld?
Use the Drafting Table to combine lower-rarity blueprints into higher-rarity blueprints. Update 0.5.0 introduced this blueprint-combining function; Pocketpair’s announcement does not specify a universal recipe count or exact material cost, so those details should not be assumed.

How does cosmetic armor work?
The Antique Dresser lets you change how your character’s armor looks without changing the armor’s stats. It is a cosmetic appearance option, rather than a way to improve or replace armor attributes.
Is version 0.5.0 the current Palworld version?
No. Version 0.5.0 is a historical update, not the current version. Palworld’s patch history, updated October 3, 2026, records version 1.0.5 as the later version-history endpoint. The 0.5.0 server guide should therefore be read as a record of that build, not as confirmation of current multiplayer compatibility. Palworld.tools patch history notes that it is not affiliated with Pocketpair.
