It also relaxed three specific building placement rules and added new items, base-management options, and interface changes. This is a historical explainer of that release, not a guide to the current version of Palworld.
How the first Raid Boss encounter worked
The update added a Summoning Altar where players could use slabs to summon Raid Boss Pals. Pocketpair’s announcement describes the summoned bosses as powerful and says they cannot be captured. As it put it: “Raid Boss Pals summoned by slabs are very powerful and can not be captured.” An egg could drop after defeating a boss, while the “extreme” version was described as especially powerful and difficult.
- Obtain or use a slab for the encounter.
- Summon the Raid Boss at a Summoning Altar.
- Fight it with Pals from your base; after victory, an egg may drop.
The announcement does not give a slab recipe, boss health, recommended team, or egg drop odds. It names Bellanoir in the update title but does not detail later Bellanoir variants.
What “improved building” meant
The update loosened three placement restrictions rather than redesigning the building system:

These adjustments made particular construction layouts possible; the patch notes do not describe a wholesale overhaul. Pocketpair’s v0.2.0.6 announcement lists these placement changes.
New items and systems
Alongside the raid, v0.2.0.6 introduced additions for Pal training, recovery, travel, equipment, and base production.

Base management and player-facing quality-of-life changes
More control over base work
- At the Monitoring Stand, players could allow or disallow specific types of work.
- Chest contents could be filtered.
- When crafting with “allow transport” selected, finished items could be sent to chests.
- Players could pick up a Pal and throw it toward a facility to force it to work and end its break. Pocketpair noted that Pals recover SAN while taking breaks.
- Pal assignments would stay fixed after adverse events unless the Pal was put in the Pal Box.
Appearance and interface
- The Antique Dresser allowed players to edit their appearance at any time.
- Aiming a sphere at a Pal displayed how many of that Pal the player had already captured.
- The interface displayed partner-skill cooldowns.
- The technology screen showed equipment and item stats before the player unlocked them.
- Players could change Journey visibility and damage-number size.
Balance, server, and security changes
The patch also changed armor resistance, incubator button timing, shop prices, wild egg Alpha chances, and falling damage for flying or floating Pals. It reduced the mounted partner-skill attack multiplier from 2.0 to 1.2, according to Pocketpair’s 2024 announcement.
For dedicated servers, the notes mention server-list and log changes and a REST API. They also say the update mitigated a Steam-account-spoofing vulnerability and fixed seven other critical vulnerabilities. The notes do not provide enough detail to treat this as a security audit or to explain how to use the API.

The incubator issue reported after release
In an April 4, 2024 edit to the announcement, Pocketpair reported that eggs could not be placed in incubators after v0.2.0.6 and suggested rebuilding the incubator as a workaround. The same edit said v0.2.1.0 fixed the problem. This records the chronology of the reported bug; it does not establish that the issue persists.

A player asked “Where I can find that Summoning Altar ?” in the update announcement’s Steam comment thread. The announcement establishes that the altar was added, but the cited notes do not specify an in-world location or provide placement instructions. The official update announcement is the source for the altar and summon system; its comment thread contains the player’s question.
