If PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo freezes or stops responding on Nintendo Switch, start with a console restart, then check for system and game updates. Nintendo’s instructions are general guidance for downloaded Switch software—not a confirmed fix for this specific game. The official sources reviewed do not identify a game-specific crash bug or a guaranteed solution.
First, note what is happening
Before changing anything, record the details that can help distinguish a game problem from a console or storage issue:
- Your console model: original Nintendo Switch family hardware or Nintendo Switch 2.
- The game version, if displayed, and any error code or message.
- Whether you play from a download or a physical game card; for a download, note whether it is stored in system memory or on a microSD card.
- When the crash occurs: at launch, while loading, or during a particular activity.
The available official support information does not establish which console models, game versions, regions, or points in the game are affected. Nintendo’s troubleshooting article below is specifically for downloaded software. If you use a game card, its steps can be a practical starting point, but Nintendo does not present that article as game-card troubleshooting.
Try Nintendo’s general steps for downloaded software
Work through these steps in order. They are Nintendo’s general recommendations for downloaded software that freezes, loads slowly, lags, or will not respond; none is confirmed as a fix for PARANORMASIGHT.

1. Restart the console
Restart the Switch, then open the game again. If the console is completely unresponsive, use the shutdown instructions for your region. Nintendo of America’s guidance says to hold the POWER Button for 20 seconds to force the console off, then turn it on again. Nintendo support pages can give different instructions by region, so follow the page for your location rather than assuming the button-hold procedure is universal. 2. Update the console
Check for a Nintendo Switch system update and install one if available. Use the system-update instructions and menu labels for your console and region.

3. Check for a game update
Check whether an update is available for PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. The sources available do not establish a current title-specific patch or say that an update has already fixed a crash.
4. Check for corrupt data
Use Nintendo’s software-management guidance to check the game’s data for corruption. If the check reports a problem, follow the on-screen instructions. Do not delete saved data as a troubleshooting shortcut; the general guidance cited here does not recommend deleting the game’s save data.

5. Delete the software and redownload it
If the problem continues, Nintendo recommends deleting the downloaded software and downloading it again. Follow the official guide for the exact steps, and be careful to select the software rather than saved data.
6. Check whether a microSD card is involved
If the downloaded game is stored on a microSD card and still fails, Nintendo suggests considering a card format or replacement, or removing the card and downloading the software to system memory. Do not format as an early experiment: formatting can erase data. Check Nintendo’s current guidance for your card and preserve anything you need before formatting.

If the crash continues, contact Square Enix
Nintendo’s UK support article directs players to the software licensee when general troubleshooting does not resolve a problem with licensee-published software. PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is published by Square Enix, so contact Square Enix Support with the console model, game version, error text or code, storage method, and the point where the crash occurs. No such benefit is established. Square Enix confirms that a physical edition exists and says, “The content of the game doesn’t differ between the physical and digital versions.” That statement compares the versions’ content; it does not say that a game card fixes crashes. Nintendo UK lists the game as Switch download software, with a 953.0 MB download size and a 9 March 2023 release date; those are details of that regional listing, not a guarantee of identical file size or availability elsewhere.
