Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous companions are story characters who join the player’s party, each bringing personal quests and choices that can shape their place in the crusade. This guide covers the base-game companion stories and how to approach their questlines; it does not claim an exhaustive, version-specific recruitment list or DLC roster.
Who are the companions in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous?
The game places its companions within a larger campaign: the player leads an adventuring party while helping command the Fifth Crusade against a demonic invasion in Golarion. They are not merely interchangeable combat slots; each has an individual story that unfolds alongside the crusade. Owlcat’s official game page describes that party-and-crusade framework.
Owlcat says it designs the roster by balancing alignments, mechanics and playstyles, major factions, and the needs of the story. That helps explain why companions bring different perspectives as well as different party functions. The available quest index names characters including Seelah, Camellia, Lann, Wenduag, Woljif, Ember, Daeran, Nenio, Sosiel, Regill, Greybor, Arueshalae, and Finnean. This is a representative set of examples, not a complete list of every recruitable character across editions and DLC.
How do I recruit each companion?
Recruitment depends on campaign events and decisions, but the available sources do not establish reliable, character-by-character recruitment conditions. They also do not confirm a complete roster for a named platform, game version, or DLC configuration. For that reason, this guide does not give unverified locations, dialogue choices, or an exhaustive recruitment checklist.

When checking a specific recruit, use a guide that identifies the game version and content scope, and verify that its conditions match your playthrough. In particular, distinguish base-game companions from special characters and DLC additions rather than assuming every name in a quest index is available in every campaign.
What are the companion quests?
Companion quests are personal storylines woven through the campaign rather than one shared quest sequence. A community quest index lists named quests for companions such as Seelah, Camellia, Lann, Wenduag, Woljif, Ember, Daeran, Nenio, Sosiel, Regill, Greybor, Arueshalae, and Finnean. Because that index is representative rather than verified as complete, it should not be used to infer an exhaustive quest count or a full DLC quest list.

Expect companion stories to develop as the crusade progresses. The choices you make and the campaign content you encounter can affect character stories and outcomes. Owlcat’s Enhanced Edition announcement specifically notes expanded epilogues describing what companions and friends do after the crusade; it does not provide a complete guide to the conditions for each ending. How do romance and party interactions work?
Romance and other companion interactions are optional and choice-driven. Owlcat explains that, unlike Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Wrath of the Righteous does not require keeping a romance interest in the party. Some optional events can be triggered by maps, party composition, or decisions. As Owlcat puts it in its developer article, “We create a character first, and then we further develop them within a romance.” Owlcat’s article on roster design and romance discusses that approach.

Can you recruit all companions in one playthrough?
The available sources do not verify whether every companion can be recruited in a single playthrough, particularly when special characters, mythic-path restrictions, and DLC are considered. Do not treat a representative quest list as proof that all its characters can coexist in one party or campaign. A reliable answer requires a roster guide that specifies its game version, platform, and included DLC.
