If SuperBLT stopped working in PAYDAY 2, first check that you have the current 64-bit loader in the game’s root folder, then test with other mods temporarily removed. If the game still fails without mods, verify its files through Steam. The right fix depends on whether PAYDAY 2 will not launch, SuperBLT loads without your mods, or a particular mod or heist triggers a crash.
Start by identifying what is failing
Before changing files, note what happens and whether PAYDAY 2 or SuperBLT was recently updated. That helps distinguish a loader problem from a mod conflict or a problem with the game itself.

- PAYDAY 2 will not launch: Check the loader version and file location, then test without other mods.
- The game launches, but SuperBLT or its mods do not appear: Check that the loader DLL is beside the game executable and that the separate base mod is present or can be downloaded.
- The game crashes while loading or during a heist: Temporarily remove other mods and overrides, then add them back in small groups.
- The problem began after an update: Treat mod compatibility as a likely possibility. The official PAYDAY 2 Update 248.1 changelog, dated September 17, 2026, warns that updates can make installed mods incompatible and that even seemingly unrelated mods may cause unexpected issues (Update 248.1 changelog).
Check the SuperBLT version and installation location
At the time of the October 8, 2026 snapshot, the official SuperBLT releases page listed 4.0.4-beta, released September 25, 2026. It is a beta build, not a stable release; older mods are not guaranteed to work with it. Check the official releases page for the current build before replacing files, because both the game and loader can change.
- Open your PAYDAY 2 installation folder—the folder containing the game executable.
- Install the current 64-bit SuperBLT DLL in that root folder, alongside the executable. Do not put the DLL inside
mods. - Keep the base mod separate: it belongs in
mods/base. Follow the project’s installation instructions and use the official SuperBLT download. - Launch the game and check whether SuperBLT initializes and the mod list appears.
If the loader is in the right place but does not initialize, avoid repeatedly reinstalling unrelated mods; continue with the migration and isolation checks below.

Fix leftovers from a 32-bit SuperBLT installation
If you upgraded from 32-bit SuperBLT to the current 64-bit beta, an old base-mod folder can interfere with the new setup. SuperBLT’s beta installation instructions say to remove the old mods/base directory so the loader can download its own base mod at launch.
- Close PAYDAY 2.
- Back up the old
mods/basefolder outside the game directory if you want to preserve anything in it. - Remove the old
mods/basefolder. - Launch the game and allow the current loader to download its base mod.
Do not delete other folders as part of this migration unless you have a separate reason to do so.

Test SuperBLT without other mods
A working loader can still fail alongside a mod that is outdated or conflicts with another mod. PAYDAY 2’s Update 248.1 notes recommend removing mods when diagnosing problems.
- Close the game.
- Move other mod folders from
modsand files or folders fromassets/mod_overridesto a temporary location outside the PAYDAY 2 directory. Keepmods/baseif it is the current base mod required by SuperBLT. - Start the game with SuperBLT and its base mod only. Check whether it launches and whether the loader is active.
- If that works, restore the removed mods in small groups, testing after each group. If the problem returns, narrow down the last group until you identify the mod or combination involved.
If a specific mod is responsible, check whether its author has released an update compatible with your game and loader versions. The official game update notes do not establish that every mod works with each new game update.

Use the crash report or logs when available
PAYDAY 2’s Update 242.1 introduced an in-game crash window that may identify mods that contributed to a crash. If it appears, save or share the report when asking for help; it can make a mod-related failure easier to diagnose.
Some installations also produce traditional files: crashlog.txt may be at %localappdata%/PAYDAY 2/crashlog.txt, and BLT logs may be under PAYDAY 2/mods/logs/, according to the cited mod documentation. These files are not guaranteed to exist for every installation or crash, so their absence does not by itself identify the cause.

Verify PAYDAY 2 if it still fails without mods
If the game continues to fail after removing the loader and other mods, test the unmodded game. The official Update 248.1 notes recommend verifying game files through Steam when problems persist without mods.
- Close PAYDAY 2.
- In your Steam Library, right-click PAYDAY 2 and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
- Let Steam finish, then launch the game without mods to check whether the base game works.

Give support a reproducible description rather than only saying “SuperBLT is broken.” Include:
