A firearms reference says its Black Ops II design resembles the FN P90 TR, but that does not make it a P90 or an exact replica.
Where the PDW-57 appears
The PDW-57 is listed as a submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Strike Team and Call of Duty: Mobile. The Call of Duty Wiki reproduces this Black Ops II create-a-class description: “Fully automatic personal defense weapon. Increased range and largest ammo capacity in its class.” Those are in-game words and attributes, not real-world specifications. Call of Duty Wiki: PDW-57
What real gun does the PDW-57 resemble?
The Internet Movie Firearms Database describes the Black Ops II PDW-57 as fictional and says its design strongly resembles the FN P90 TR. Treat this as a reported visual resemblance, not proof that the game weapon is a P90 or a precise copy. Internet Movie Firearms Database: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
The AR-57 development note
The same reference says that during development the weapon took the form of an AR-57. That note concerns the design’s development; it does not establish that the final fictional PDW-57 is a real AR-57. No official publisher explanation of the design inspiration is established by these sources.

Why the name can be misleading
“Personal defense weapon” is part of the game’s description, and “submachine gun” is its game classification. Neither label establishes that a real firearm called the PDW-57 was manufactured. Similarly worded product categories or other real-world PDW models should not be confused with this Call of Duty weapon; the available sources do not show that B&T made, designed or endorsed it.
Are its game statistics real firearm specifications?
No. Any damage, ammunition capacity, range or rate-of-fire values assigned to the PDW-57 describe game mechanics, not measured performance of a real gun. Such values may also vary by game, mode or version. The in-game description is not a technical specification for a real firearm.
