Neither Peacock nor Netflix is a proven all-around winner for action movies. Both list action films for US viewers, but their catalogs change, and the official pages do not establish which service has more or better titles. Check whether the films you want are available now, then compare the subscription tiers that include them. For Peacock, that means Premium or Premium Plus: Select excludes movies.
What action movies are listed on Peacock and Netflix?
Both services have US action and adventure listings, but treat these as snapshots rather than fixed catalogs. A genre page may change, and a title’s listing today does not establish its future availability.

Peacock
Peacock’s Action & Adventure page lists films including Daylight’s End, Dreamscape, Jiang Zi Ya, The Fast and the Fierce, The Rundown, and The Scorpion King. This is not a complete or permanent inventory.
Netflix
Netflix’s US Action & Adventure page includes a mix such as Black Adam, Furious 7, The Gray Man, The Mother, The Fast and the Furious, Fast Five, and Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. Its genre page also changes.

These examples show that both services list action films; they do not support a reliable catalog-size count or a judgment about which collection is better. Search each service for your must-watch titles before subscribing or switching.
Which plans include movies, and what do they cost?
The following prices and features were displayed on the services’ official US plan pages on October 3, 2026. Streaming prices and plan details can change, and availability may differ outside the US.
Rank #2
| Service and plan | Displayed US price | Movie-relevant details |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock Select | $8.99/month or $89.99/year | Excludes movies and Peacock Originals; not suitable for a movie-first comparison. |
| Peacock Premium | $12.99/month or $129.99/year | Includes movies; ads are included. |
| Peacock Premium Plus | $19.99/month or $199.99/year | No ads with limited exceptions; downloads are subject to availability. |
| Netflix Standard with ads | $8.99/month | Ad-supported; 1080p. |
| Netflix Standard | $19.99/month | No ads; 1080p. |
| Netflix Premium | $26.99/month | No ads; 4K + HDR and immersive sound. |
Peacock describes its annual plans as 12 months for the price of 10. An annual subscription costs less per month when averaged across the year, but requires paying for the year rather than keeping the flexibility of monthly billing. The displayed prices do not establish that the services are equivalent in ad load or that every film streams at the plan’s headline resolution.
How should you compare ads and picture quality?
Ads
Netflix labels Standard with ads as ad-supported and Standard and Premium as no ads. Peacock Premium includes ads; Premium Plus is described as having no ads, subject to limited exceptions. These labels do not establish equal ad loads across services or guarantee that every program and circumstance is ad-free. Peacock says Premium subscribers typically see 145 seconds of commercials before a movie begins; that is Peacock’s stated typical pre-movie figure, not a comparison with Netflix or a claim about every Peacock viewing situation. See Peacock’s current movies page.
Rank #3
Picture and sound
Netflix lists 1080p for Standard with ads and Standard, and 4K + HDR and immersive sound for Premium. The reviewed Peacock movie information does not provide an equivalent format-by-format comparison, so the available details do not show that the services match on picture or sound quality.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which service is better for your action-movie watchlist?
- Choose based on specific films: Search both live catalogs for the exact titles you want. A genre-page snapshot cannot establish a lasting winner.
- Compare eligible plans: Exclude Peacock Select if movies are the priority; compare Premium or Premium Plus with the Netflix tier whose ad and picture features you would actually use.
- Pay for features you value: Netflix Premium is the listed option with 4K + HDR and immersive sound. If those features matter, compare its price with what you would otherwise spend on Peacock Premium or Premium Plus.
- Check your location: The listings and prices here are from US-facing pages. Catalog availability and plan details may differ in other countries.
If your preferred films are currently on Netflix, or you value its listed Premium picture and sound features, Netflix may be the better fit. If the films you want are on Peacock and its eligible tier better suits your budget and preferences, Peacock may be the better fit. This is a decision framework based on listed titles and plan features, not a tested ranking of the services.
