People Can Fly announced in December 2024 that it would suspend Project Victoria, reduce the team working on Project Bifrost and restructure some support teams. The company said those changes would affect more than 120 employees. This is a report on the December 2024 announcement, not breaking news from October 2026.
What People Can Fly announced
In a report published on 10 December 2024, PC Gamer reported that the studio planned changes to two projects and its support teams. People Can Fly said the changes would mean suspending or parting ways with more than 120 employees—not exactly 120.

- Project Victoria: The company said it would suspend the project.
- Project Bifrost: The company said it would scale down the team working on it.
- Support teams: The company said it would restructure some support teams.
The project names in the announcement were Victoria and Bifrost. PC Gamer separately identifies Outriders, Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment as games made by People Can Fly; those titles were not named as projects being suspended or scaled down in this announcement.
Why the company said it was making cuts
CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski attributed the decision to continued market pressure and the studio’s financial capacity. In a statement reproduced by Pure Xbox on 11 December 2024, he said: “This action became necessary as external market pressures persisted beyond our forecasts.”

He also said the studio needed “to tailor our plans to our financial capacity.” These are the company’s stated reasons; the contemporaneous reports do not independently establish the causes or provide a full account of People Can Fly’s finances.
What People Can Fly said it would do next
Alongside the cuts, Wojciechowski said the company planned to seek more work-for-hire engagements and concentrate development on a single independent game. Those were announced intentions in December 2024. The cited reports do not establish whether the plans were later completed.

What was said about support for affected employees
The company said it was “focused on supporting those impacted during this transition providing them with resources and assistance to navigate this change.” The statement did not specify individual severance terms or what happened to each affected employee. The cited reporting also does not state the precise total above 120, the locations of affected staff or the job categories involved.
