Pets Survivors is a single-player horde-survival roguelike in which you fight enemy waves, earn experience, and shape a build by upgrading your weapon, special ability, or pet. Nintendo’s official listing says the game has 14 playable pets and a dozen starting weapons; successful runs also let you bank collected coins for permanent perks between stages. Here are the key progression details and what the official store listings do—and do not—confirm.

How does progression work in Pets Survivors?

Each run follows a straightforward loop: fight waves of monsters, collect experience by defeating enemies, and choose an upgrade when you level up. Steam describes three in-run upgrade branches: weapon, special ability, or pet. Those choices shape the build for that attempt, but the store descriptions do not provide exact effects or establish one universally strongest path.

Nintendo’s overview adds that you choose a pet, starting weapon, and an area from those already unlocked, then survive waves and prepare for a boss encounter. The listing does not explain how areas unlock or detail boss mechanics.

In-run choices

  • Weapon: Improve the weapon used during the run.
  • Special ability: Strengthen an ability as you level.
  • Pet: Upgrade your chosen character. Nintendo says pets have their own skills and stats.

Between-run progression

Nintendo says coins collected in a successful run can be banked and spent on permanent perks between stages. The official store descriptions reviewed do not specify perk costs, stat changes, upgrade caps, or what happens to coins after a failed run.

How many pets and starting weapons are there?

Nintendo’s official product listing states that Pets Survivors has 14 playable pets and a dozen starting weapons. Nintendo describes the pets as having unique skills and stats. These are the counts stated on that listing, not a guarantee that the roster or weapon count will remain unchanged after updates.

The store descriptions do not give a complete roster of pets or weapons, numerical stat comparisons, or enough data to rank them. To compare options, consider the pet’s stated skills and stats, your starting weapon, and which of the three upgrade branches you want to emphasize.

Do coins carry over between runs?

Nintendo says coins collected are banked if you succeed and can be spent on permanent perks between stages. The listing does not define the exact banking rules or say whether coins from a failed run are retained, so it does not support a more specific carryover claim.

What is not established about builds?

The store pages outline the choices—pet, weapon, and level-up upgrades—but do not supply a full upgrade catalog, numerical balancing data, or a verified optimal-build guide. Claims that a particular pet, weapon, or upgrade path is objectively best would go beyond what those listings establish.
