Phantom Blade Zero no longer launches on September 9, 2026. Developer S-GAME moved the release to October 29, 2026, calling the change a 50-day delay. PlayStation notes an October 28 launch in the US and select regions, while Steam displays October 28; those dates reflect regional and storefront timing.
When does Phantom Blade Zero come out?
The announced release date is October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC. The earlier September 9 date was superseded when S-GAME announced the change on June 2, 2026. The developer described it as a 50-day delay. S-GAME’s June 2 letter is the primary date-change announcement.

The October 28 and October 29 displays are not necessarily contradictory: PlayStation explicitly identifies October 28 for the US and select regions, and Steam displays October 28 for its PC listing. For the time shown in your own region, use the relevant storefront.
Why was Phantom Blade Zero delayed?
S-GAME says the added time is for further improvements and polish. In the June 2 letter, CEO and game creator Soulframe Liang said the team streamlined content and focused on upgrading character models, reworking environments, and preserving visual impact without requiring ray tracing. He said some of the work might otherwise have arrived after launch. These are the developer’s stated goals, not independent confirmation of the game’s final quality.

Liang described the scope and limits of the change this way: “A 50-day delay cannot solve everything. But it does give us enough time to complete a number of clearly defined and genuinely important improvements.” He also wrote that the team had “spent additional effort preserving as much of this visual impact as possible even without relying on ray tracing.” Both statements come from S-GAME’s June 2, 2026 letter.
Which platforms are confirmed?
Official listings cover PlayStation 5 and PC. S-GAME is identified as the developer on Steam and S-GAME Publishing as the publisher. Steam’s displayed minimum PC requirements include Windows 10/11, 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, an SSD, and a listed midrange graphics card; the recommended configuration also lists 16 GB of RAM and an SSD. Because requirements can change, consult the current Steam listing before assessing a particular PC.

The PlayStation Store lists Standard and Digital Deluxe editions for PS5. Its listing says the game supports DualSense vibration and trigger effects; a separate controller is not required. The listing also says the pre-order Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit can be obtained through in-game progression. Check the PlayStation Store page for current edition and pre-order details.

PlayStation describes it as a dark wuxia action game set in the Wulin. In an August 17, 2026 gameplay deep dive, the publisher said players can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons, called Phantom Edges.
